Yes there's a few that do and yes Gran Turismo should cater to them but also offer modes where you can have all the visual goodness while having racing that isn't so structured for people who just want a good race after work.

With gt sport it looks like they're aiming at the former - i expect a lot of copies to be traded in very quickly.

The fact they have taken so much away from previous series makes me nervous about pre ordering

Now I know I've slagged this off a lot, and it never looks like this in gameplay, but holy strawberry floating gooseberry fool actual photorealism. This is the first time ive ever not been able to distinguish a game from reality. It's only certain details that give it away

strawberry float that looks like real life. Also Interlagos track has been confirmed to be in this as one of the new tracks as well as Senna content

https://www.gtplanet.net/official-gt-sp ... -released/

As the first Brazilian track to appear in GT Sport, fans are curious to see what ties Interlagos will have with Ayrton Senna. After a special mode dedicated to the F1 champion in GT6, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed Senna will also be a part of the Sport experience. We’ll find out soon — stay tuned for more GT Sport news.

That does look incredible. The definition and lighting are sensational; the reflections on the car windows look real :o .

The demo is sensational. What a great move from Polyphony. And there is an 'Arcade' SP 'race-against-the-AI' mode, after all - so much misinformation on YT! In the demo the mode is obviously cut-down, but I expect to see a full range of tracks and cars unlocked in the final version for offline racing against the AI (and you can earn stuff in that mode, too!).

Visually (on my PS4 Pro on a standard HD TV), amazing! Way better than I was hoping for. Replays are a pleasure to watch. Manages to out-do Project Cars 2 quite easily.

Anyway, suffice to say Deluxe Digital Version purchased. £60. Ouch. But this is essential if you love racing sims.

Most of the complaints have been about the lack of the traditional gt career mode with structured cup races rather than about the complete lack of any vs ai racing, however i suspect that saying "no ai racing!" is a much better video headline for views.

Thinking about gt sport and career modes etc, especially while playing forza 5 and thinking about car collecting/career modes, what actually are career modes other than a pre-structured series of ai races? The only difference between the two is that one has a pre-existing framework compared to making one up yourself. As long as the vs ai races still provide rewards then i don't have a problem with how its been restructured.

I am also aware that i have u-turned compared to previous posts in this thread, however the forza 7 debacle has refocused a few things for me.

Also reading the manual shows the livery editor is doing some really interesting and helpful things, it remains to be seen how that pans out, but i'm looking forward to ditching forza's time-heavy methods in favour of doing things much quicker.

Absolutely. As long as in the final version Arcade Mode offers us all the tracks and all the cars (even if we have to earn them) I'll be happy. I'm just astounded how badly this game has been mischaracterized by so many YouTubers. I understand your point about no 'offline career', but you really sum it up nicely. I hardly ever play career modes, anyway. I just want to set up my own races with any car, any track, any class/difficulty/weather/time of day/etc and go up against the AI. GT Sport has that. How difficult is it for YT commentators to make that clear?

Also, this game has tons of additional content. Even in the demo you could easily spend all your time poring over the gorgeous car models and their scenes/movies/info. I can't imagine how bulging with petrolhead goodness the final game will be. The detail and quality is to be commended.

I'm happy to admit when I'm wrong...

This. Is. Brilliant.

The graphics are just unbelievable. Every bit as good, and in some cases better, than Forza on Xbox One X. Where this sudden graphical polish has sprung from I have no idea.

The sound improvements between this and previous GTs is just enormous, though that does have something to do with me now having a decent sound system I'm sure.

Online servers are now down which means I can't save or do anything outside of Arcade mode. Which is obviously ridiculous.

Online-only games, eh.

Menus, graphics, sounds amazing.

Little overwhelming the amount of controls and car set up and also I found it a struggle to keep up with the other cars but
