Not really. The whole basis of it is, once again, Online is so successful they don't want to get rid of it. Not a single mention of Red Dead Redemption 2. And just because the Trilogy leaked out doesn't mean all projects are going to - especially if, as we're led to believe by all these rumours, it's still a good three or four years away.

It’s poor they are pulling old content. I have a modded GTA V on PC and it needs scripthook to run. Everytime the game updates, it needs a new version of scripthook to link with the version of the executable. I think Rockstar are deliberately messing with this.

Make great games, but poor practices.

A New Generation for GTAV and GTA Online

With the GTAV community stronger than ever, Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online will come to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms this coming March 15, bringing the blockbuster open-world experience to players on the latest hardware. We sincerely appreciate the entire community’s support over the years as the game now heads into an unprecedented third console generation.

Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S features new graphics modes with up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, texture and draw distance upgrades, HDR options and ray-tracing, as well as offering the technical advancements of the latest console generation with faster loading times, immersive 3D audio, platform-specific features like advanced haptic feedback, and much more.

PS4 and Xbox One players eager to continue their journey on the newest generation of hardware will be able to transfer both their GTAV Story Mode progress and their current GTA Online characters and progression to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a one-time migration at launch.

Plus, a new standalone version of GTA Online for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will debut at launch — available for free for the first three months to PlayStation 5 players — making it easier than ever before for new players to experience everything GTA Online has to offer.

Well, that's something. New GTA on the way. Hooray. How about showing us something of it. Even just the location we'll be visiting.
Although, it is bringing flashbacks to when they announced the trilogy remasters. So maybe something's coming soon. Who knows.

Finally.

I don't mind what settings it will be, but it would be good to have more population and dense in the cities to make it like real life.

The thing that gets me is this isn't for the people looking to buy the game, this announcement is for the investors.

I think it’s but it a tumbleweed announcement in honesty. Of course a 6th entry was on the way for the next generation consoles we all expected that.

Grand Theft Auto V

Experience the interwoven stories of Franklin, Michael, and Trevor across the sun-soaked metropolis of Los Santos and the backwoods countryside of Blaine County in greater detail than ever before with stunning all new levels of visual detail.

Choose from one of three detailed new graphics settings to tailor your gameplay experience for what matters most to you. Fidelity Mode is tuned for the highest visual quality and targets 30 FPS. In this mode the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X support native 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled while the Xbox Series S supports upscaled 4K resolution. Performance Mode is tuned for the most responsive gameplay experience and targets 60 FPS. In this mode the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X support upscaled 4K resolution while the Xbox Series S supports a resolution of 1080p. In addition, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X have Performance RT mode, a hybrid of the Fidelity and Performance modes supporting upscaled 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled and targeting 60 FPS.

These new versions also offer across-the-board improvements including faster loading times, increased population and traffic variety, increased vegetation density, improved lighting quality across shadows, water reflections, and other elements. Plus improved anti-aliasing, motion-blur, highly detailed new explosions, fire, and much more.

There's also new levels of responsiveness with Haptic Feedback and dynamic resistance via the Adaptive Triggers on PlayStation 5's DualSense wireless controller, adding new sensations to weather effects, directional damage, rough road surfaces, explosions and much more. Platform-specific features also include immersive audio using Tempest 3D positional audio on PlayStation 5 and Spatial Sound on Xbox Series X|S.

Story Mode and GTA Online Character Transfers

PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to transfer both their GTAV Story Mode progress and their current GTA Online characters and progression to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, or across console platforms, with a one-time migration for each.

Starting today, players can begin transferring their Story Mode progress by uploading a save to the Rockstar Games Social Club. To begin this process, enter GTAV on your current console account and go to the Game tab of the Pause Menu. From there, select the Upload Save Game option. Please note, you can only store one game save per platform at a time and saves will remain available to download for 90 days.

Players with a Rockstar Games Social Club account will also be able to migrate their GTA Online character progress to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S on March 15 upon loading up the game on either of these new consoles. This migration includes any Characters, GTA$, Progression, Stats, Vehicles, Properties, Weapons, Clothing, and Player-Created Jobs.*

Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online will be available digitally on March 15 through the PlayStation 5 console store and the Microsoft Store — with pre-purchase and pre-load beginning on March 8 — and physical releases coming in April. Stay tuned for more details.

*Players will only be able to transfer their purchased GTA$ when migrating from PS4 to PS5, or from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

The different performance modes for a 2 generations old game is laughable. You'd think a port of a PS3 game should just be a solid 60fps by default.

I think I'm gonna go for that campaign upgrade on the PS5. Because I don't own enough versions of GTA V  :fp: .

Yeah, cheaper than I was expecting - especially for the first three months.

The price is unexpected, but whether it's a good price or not is solely dependent on what the game actually looks like...and at the moment, we've not seen it in motion.

I'm amazed that this is GTA V - one of the biggest names in gaming - and, with four days to go until launch, we've seen barely anything of the new versions. In an age where we get to see so much of games prior to launch, it feels a bit odd.

This vid isn't an in-depth comparison but it shows off the intro on PS4 and PS5 plus some gameplay scenes. The newer version looks a bit sharper, particularly with distant objects, although the colour and shadow details are, I think, a matter of personal taste - they're different rather than being better. My expectations have been reined in a bit.

That's not even official footage. It's a reupload of a video from 2020 showing off some graphics mod. But as OR says, when we do get official footage, GTA V sure be do lookin' like GTA V.

I've scrubbed through that post.
