Our house move is now go, and we're not putting the carpets down until we've moved in. Long story short, this means I will get to put speaker wires under the carpet. :datass:

Very excited about this. Haven't had proper surround for a few years now.

Does anyone have any experience with using flat speaker cable? Any tips? This seems like as good a thread as any to ask the question. I'm going for 5.1 and literally going from one side of the room to the other, so should be straightforward.

Once it's all in place I'll take some pics of my gaming crib. 8-)

It's where the sky and Arial ports are, surprisingly no sunlight light effects the screen despite the bad picture

I put a photo up in the PC Gaming thread but I though I may do here as well.
I caved and got that 34" LG monitor. Happily it has no backlight bleed issues and the PQ is outstanding! The stand is gooseberry fool though so I bought an Ergotron MX vesa stand instead. That thing is strawberry floating awesome!

I'll be selling the 29" Ultrawide when I get back from my holidays.

Cool setup, SEP. That gold Wii remote :datass:.

But... why are two pairs of shades making the appearance? Some sort of Kanye West cosplay?

Those are 3D glasses. And for looking like the kind of person who wears shades indoors.

TV looks bloody impressive KingK. Must be an absolute joy to play/watch stuff on.

How well does the BluRay player upscale to 4K?

Telly is indeed fantastic. PS4 gaming and Sky HD is tremendous. We also have a UHD movie pack that came with the tv and the jump in quality from HD is noticeable. Almost looks 3D but without the need for glasses.

The Blu Ray has hardly been used tbh but I can't honestly say it's at the same level as the UHD pack but it's still very impressive

A bit of a bump for this thread but i'm finally getting somewhere with my flat where it's starting to look how I want it. I've got a lot of placeholder art work that my Dad did for me at work as he's a printer and he did stuff he thought i'd like but once that's been replaced i'm nearly where I want it to be.

The view from the sofa:

Image

Currently set up under the TV is the Wii U, PS4, Xbone & PS3 with the PC just to the right which can be plugged in via HDMI when gaming/watching films.

Sofa and behind, Blu-Ray & CD collection, just out of shot to the right is the board/card games, books & magazines:

Mood lights behind the TV for errr, setting the mood:

And then, the all important (physical) games collection:

Only just seen this... that looks like a marvelous screen, KingK.

Your room setup is looking really cool, Joer - great work. Three PC screens and a TV :o . The room looks cosy and I like your game disc collection; in particular, it's good to see the Wii Zelda Skyward set and a few Xbox (original) games!

Just a bit of idle speculation in case I win the lottery tonight...

Would it be better to get the best/biggest TV possible or go for a projector for a video games room?
