I feel like the mods should ban everyone who voted for Barbie Girl. What a fiasco.

Maybe not a ban, but they should be named and shamed.

I voted Barbie Girl, mainly because it is fun and jolly and I'm not really a fan of anything up there but that one wasn't as bad like.

Moggy, are you going to do a 00s vote? Because that's when Cowell and Co started defecating up the charts.

Just trying to come to terms with the fact that I'm a member of a forum where Barbie Girl is not only being voted as the best single of the 90s but is currently getting almost twice the votes of its closest rival! :fp:

You say that - and I am in no way defending Cowell et al - but this poll suggests the problem existed before they did...

Somehow the forum has declared Barbie Girl the best single of the 90s. Well done Aqua!

Next up, the 00s.

The list was taken from here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_singles_of_the_2000s_(decade)_in_the_United_Kingdom

I actually think it's a better list than the 90s one, but that really wasn't hard to beat.

I can't stand the Shaggy song - when you listen to the lyrics it is a pretty minging tune.

Well of course not, that song wasn't even it until 2005.
