Just had a look at the 90s list on Wikipedia, definitely doesn't look right. Wonderwall sold well over 1 million but isn't in that list.

Novelty songs and charity/Christmas tunes are always going to dominate these things sadly.

Interesting, it seems like there's some dispute over the figures from the 90s on that list anyway due to changes in the companies providing chart figures.

Anyway this is mentioned, but I guess isn't relevant...
