Because Scotland is small enough without breaking it down into smaller counties like Yorkshire and Edinburghshire.

Also included are the Channel Islands, not strictly part of the British Isles archipelago as they are positioned off the French coast of Normandy, but traditionally included because of their political connection with the United Kingdom.

Your own quote showed that Sark is not a part of the British Isles archipelago. Which is why it is not in the poll. Which answers your original question over the Isle of Man being included while Sark missed out.

When I run a “Best Channel Island” poll, you can then call me out if Sark is not included.
