Yup, Manchester. Lived in London, disliked the clique culture and feeling of anonymity. Leeds is nice, but could at times feel a little small. Manchester is the ideal, sitting on the sweet spot of manageable size, plenty going on and casual feel.

I've preferred Manchester to Birmingham whenever I've been.

I flew into Manchester Airport a few years ago for a Liverpool match, while waiting on a train we seen several prostitutes working on street below in broad daylight.

Birmingham!

GRcade :fp:

Birmingham's improved a hell of a lot in the last decade, I drove past yesterday ans the skyline is littered with cranes. It's become a great city centre but I'd avoid the surrounding areas.

My vote went for Manchester.

No wonder it's winning the GRcade poll.

Also forgot to mention that Birmingham's recently regenerated canal quarter is lovely, lots of nice restaurants and wine bars...

I've only ever been to Manchester when someone's been playing football and it was horrid. The train station was hell :dread:

Great museum, though.

I've always enjoyed my time in Manchester whenever I've been - I could live there quite happily if I had to move there.

No Welsh cities? Didn't realise we weren't part of the UK anymore.

Tbh I've only been to Cardiff. Well I once went to Birmingham for a gig and London for another gig.

No Welsh cities in the top 10 population list that I found.

Plus Merthyr Tydfil would have romped to victory too easily.

There's certainly plenty of romping in Merthyr.

Not sure it would be to victory though.

Finding it hard to decide as London is just a million miles ahead of those other cities.
