Hold off for a couple of months, hopefully I'll be over there from June.

North Berwick tops the Scottish part so not sure how accurate that list is, remember it being strawberry floating boring

You only think this because you've never lived there.

With 26% of the vote, Manchester has been declared the best UK city.

Next up, which is the best country in the world? How can we judge a shortlist? Well an obvious way to work out the best country to live in would be to look at how happy the people living there are. And so GRcade will decide on the best country from the top 10 happiest countries 2016: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Hap ... ing.5B4.5D

Just noticed this thread, Tony Blair as best PM by a landslide? WTF Grcade!

In terms of best country, I went for Netherlands. I like the idea of legalised weed and prostitution (I partake in neither but I think it is a good policy) . Australia looks nice to me in terms of climate but killer spiders rule it out. Canada seems nice from afar but the weather is killer.

In other news, the 2017 list has just been reported on. I didn't even see the story before I thought this up this morning.

No changes to 2016 other than the order so you can all carry on telling me why this is a disgraceful list that omits somewhere that should really be there.

I went to Copenhagen and pints can cost £10+.

In Sweden, supermarkets can't sell alcohol-you have to buy them from special government owned shops that shut at 3pm on Saturday and don't open Sunday.

So both those are out. Haven't been to the rest of scandanvia but of the remaining countries I'd pick to live in Australia I think, for the climate.

I've only been to two, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

The area of Switzerland I went to (Geneva) was absolutely lovely. The people were very pleasant — I remember marvelling at how polite, clean and generally wholesome everyone seemed on the bus, compared with the scum of the earth types you get on every service here — and the mountainous landscape is undeniably beautiful.

It was bloody expensive, mind!

Wouldn't be that mad keen on any of them; Scandinavia's too cold and dark, Australia's too hot and isolated, the Netherlands is strawberry floating boring (Amsterdam's fairly cool but I've found the Dutch to be very socially right-on and the other cities to be plain, if nice enough). Guess I'd probably go with Canada out of that lot.

I've only been to 3 of those; Iceland, Switzerland and Canada. Out of those I'd pick Canada.

Can't help but notice that 3 out of the top 4 countries in Europe aren't in the EU - surely a mistake, I didn't think you could have a happy, successful country outside the EU. :?

;)

Canada is currently in the lead with Iceland bringing up the rear. Australia has zero votes.

GRcade likes it cold.

Whilst never having been to any of those countries I'd happily settled for a place where people are less selfish and less cunty.

I've got familial links to NZ and Canada so maybe one of those. My missus would move to Canada without a second's hesitation so maybe there... Not keen on their health system though.

The correct answer is Denmark.

Icelabd with so many votes. Have you been? Great for a holiday, no doubt about it but its so remote that food any anything else you'll want is fricking expensive. And you'll never be able to pronounce anyones names.

Canada is GRcade's favourite happy country. Well done to the polar bears!

Next up we will decide on the greatest album of all time. The options have been taken from the top 10 selling albums of all time, but feel free to moan about the selection!

What's your favourite Eagles album?

Tough one. I'd have to say Their Greatest Hits.

I'm pretty sure I've only ever listened to Dark Side Of The Moon from that list and I thought it was gooseberry fool. I'll have to listen to them all quickly before you change the poll.

Shitting hell, are those really the best selling albums of all time? People are really rubbish.

Voted for Rumours, out of that lot. Great record.
