Consider this, Crash Bandicoot was released in the US 09/09/1996 a mere 20 days later Super Mario 64 launched there and the difference is staggering. You could argue it took another 2 years for something even remotely similar to launch on PlayStation as Spyro The Dragon was released in the US 09/09/1998 and even that isn't quite up to the standards of Super Mario 64.

I voted for Ocarina, but this is a great point, Salad. I bought Banjo-Kazooie first for my N64 and enjoyed that, and by the time that I got around to getting Mario I wasn't too impressed for some reason. I barely played it and quickly traded it in! A few years later - after picking up Spyro and having a ton of fun with that - I bought the Mario cart again and realised that I hadn't given it a fair play. One day I will revisit the game to make up for my mistake!

How can you vote for a game that you've still not completed?

Pokemon Stadium, but it is the only one I played on N64 (it was in a burger king in Brighton) and I didn't really get on with OOT

I've got quite a way into it!

Lets face it, if I could only vote for games that I've completed, I'd be in a bit of trouble  .

True. I'll actually be quite sad if you ever do complete it. We'll have to move on to slagging you about other things.

Diddy Kong Racing is by far my favourite from that list.

I think I'm one of the few people who didn't like Ocarina of Time that much, although in fairness it was the first Zelda game I'd ever played and I was unaware of just how much backtracking they involved - I think I got as far as the bit just before the third boss where you have to race against a Goron for some arbitrary reason and thought "strawberry float this" then promptly traded it in to fund a couple of PS1 games.

I did however really like both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, although I never finished either due to my savefiles getting corrupted (on two separate occasions), the only one I've finished is Phanton Hourglass.

Pokémon Stadium aside, you're looking at a list of the absolute highest quality. Truly the golden age of gaming.

I voted for Ocarina, which only recently lost the title of best game ever made (to Breath of the Wild).

Fond memories of the N64 recently especially with the hype around YookaLaylee. I voted for Zelda as that game is for me still the benchmark as I loved it so much. Majora gets an honourable mention for being such a fantastic follow up. However I'd also consider Banjo as I'd say it was probably the best of Rare and arguably the most complete N64 experience.

Thinking back I have fonder memories of the N64 over the PS1. Sony had the sheer number of titles, but I never felt it hit the absolute highs that the N64 did.

I was in Bristol's premier fashion outlet Primark at the weekend and they had an N64 t-shirt. Naturally I bought it. 8-)

Zelda. Because it's strawberry floating amazing.

Mario 64, F Zero X and Majora's Mask and Lylat Wars are all great. I find a lot of stuff has aged badly on this platform, Rare's output being a big example of this. Shitty frame rates age a game tremendously.

I voted for the only sensible choice which is obviously Goldeneye.

Ocarina of Time has smashed the competition and takes the prize as the greatest ever N64 game.

Now as we all know, the founding fathers of America are held in high esteem to this very day. But what of the more important founding fathers? The first brave souls to break away from the tyranny of Future and forge a new life in their very own "democratic" community? The wise men who decided mad King Future was not somebody who represented them? The first 10 to register as citizens of the 'Cade?

There is only one way to find out who is the best of the first ten. Vote away!

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I voted for suzz because he has a Batman avatar (or had, I have them disabled).

edit: gooseberry fool, quick profile check reveals he's now got Spiderman.

Instant voter's remorse :(
