Nope. It's an ok Bond film.

Well you're just wrong. You probably rank them in alphabetical order.

I rank them by how good they are. TND is not one of the worst, it's not one of the best. It's ok.

It's great, brilliant story, some great car/bike chases, quality cast, gadgets, and satirizes Rupert Murdoch. I can't help it if you're a bitter husk. :toot:

What are we actually discussing here? Either who is the best Bond or which Bond had the best films?

The poll is for the best Bond. I guess it's the person you would want to play Bond if the greatest ever Bond movie had been written.

I'd also say Craig is the same as Brosnan-a great Bond with an excellent first film and then they all go downhill...

Pretty hard to separate the Bonds from their films. Sure, a potentially good Bond could be scuppered by terrible film making but I don't buy that you can actually separate the two and claim one Bond to be the best despite being in bad films. It smacks of trying to be too clever!

Connery, by a considerable margin. The man IS James Bond.

He plays it so well, it's effortless - Bond is a smooth, yet when necessary brutally efficient agent and in my view Connery is the only one who truly managed to deliver that in a performance.

Lazenby tried his best, but ultimately he was just wrong. Roger Moore put in a good turn in Live and Let Die, but after that turned the whole franchise into a joke (and not in a good way). Dalton was good, but the films struggled to achieve the large task ahead of them - shake off the stale campness of the overlong Moore era and at the same time successfully marry the classic elements of a Bond movie to the more extreme environment presented by action movies in the 80s. As others have said Brosnan came out of the gate with a really good effort in Goldeneye, and I must admit I do rate him as a Bond, but he was let down by doing just 4 films only one of which was really good. As for Craig, well he tries hard I'll give him that, and Casino Royale was good, but he's just not Bond - he can do the "blunt instrument" element of the character but that's about it. Also James Bond shouldn't be a blonde short-arse so Craig was always doomed!

Connery. The best balance between tough and ruthless yet charismatic and charming.

Roger Moore nailed the charm but I never believed his toughness, his fight scenes were a bit embarrassing.

Dalton was unquestionably tough but he lacked the charisma and charm coming across too serious.

Brosnan was alright but not quite as convincing either in his charm (which comes across as slightly sleazy) or his toughness (he seems a bit too Rom com)

Craig was a good reboot and believable as a trouble wild bond but then he never felt like an in control agent in the way Connery did.

Sean Connery is the greatest ever Bond. Was there any doubt?

Next up, with reports of the US running out of poison, and a UKIP councillor wanting to bring back hanging/the guillotine, what exactly is the best method of execution? The list has been chosen by the current methods on offer in the USA, along with the classic French UKIP approved guillotine.

Only GRcade can decide!

They say a hanging man hears beautiful music.

Which is too good for them! :x

I would imagine that only hanging and guillotine would be painless for the "victim", all the others have potential to be excrutiatingly painful. But as getting your head chopped off could be quite messy, I've gone for the rope.

Those things scare the absolute shite out of me. Some poor bugger from Mayo got killed in one a few years back and I can't think of many worse ways to die. As a method of execution it'd probably be effective as the thought of getting chucked in one would be a fair incentive to not be a bollix.

Every method of execution is imperfect as it introduces a much too large margin of error and possibility of considerable suffering.

The 'best' would probably be a bullet in the head.

Most of the head detaching stuff leaves the brain awake and aware for a period, so destruction of the brain should be immediate priority. Anything that affects the body before the brain is suboptimal as the brain (even unconscious) can process its suffering.

I don't particularly agree with execution but if I had to choose a method I would probably go with lethal injection as it is still the most humane method available.

All the other options are too much like revenge for my liking.
