For discussion of fantasy football, so it doesn't clog up the main football thread.

http://fantasy.premierleague.com

In fantasy football, your squad of players scores points depending on how well they do irl - scoring goals, making assists, keeping clean sheets, and so on. Your captain scores double points.

There's an option for the game to pick a team for you, so there's no excuse not to play. :P

Once you've signed up and selected your team, click the "leagues" tab, then "join a league", and then enter these codes:

Classic league - 29201-12372
Head-to-head league - 29201-129552

And for the Championship game:

GRcade league - 4368

Does anyone think Holt would be a good choice for a bargain striker? I think he'll start all of Norwich's games (i'm assuming he'll be preferred over Vaughan) and he's also the penalty taker.

Yes, Holt is the bargain striker of choice. Or Leon Best :shifty:

I would have said Sturridge but we just don't know how many games he's going to play, do we?

If Sturridge goes on loan somewhere he would definitely be a good shout.

Agreed with Sturridge. And I think Holt could be a bargain. I'm tempted to put Yohan Cabaye in my team, but he's at the clusterfuck that is Newcastle United, and it's a new league, so I might hold out for a while...

Championship wise, I've got one player playing tonight (James Chester) Shame I probably won't get to see the match. Friday night games :fp:

Andy Johnson has been firing in Fulham's preseason, so he may be a good choice. Zamora's also been very effective and I have a hunch he will get more starts than Johnson but both of them look very good at the moment. However Johnson is 1.5 million cheaper than Zamora so I've gone for him so I can afford at least one decent midfielder...

My main 2 tips though would be Jonathan Walters, who is firing like mad for Stoke at the moment, and Aaron Ramsey, who may start a lot of games as Abou Diaby is injured and Nasri and Fabregas looking like they're on the way out.

I think the Man Utd strikers might be rotated a bit more this season.

I bet most people have Hart as a goalie.

Took Jarvis, Ba and Hernandez out and put N'Zogbia, Suarez and Holt in. I've made a change everyday since signing up. :fp:

Print screen -> paste into Paint -> crop -> upload to Imgur. Other image hosting sites are available.

Classic league is the normal cumulative points system. Head-to-head league is where you get paired up with another team each week, and get three points for beating them and one for a draw. The top eight in the head-to-head league go into a playoff in the final three weeks of the season.

My printscreen button isn't working or maybe I'm just retarded, thanks anyway Spindash. I wish there was a purist league where you have to keep the same team throughout.

This is my team:

------------Given--------------

--Baines--Hangeland--Assou Ekotto

N'Zogbia--Lucas--Wilshere--Modric

---Aguero--Rooney--Demba Ba---

Team name: LisbonLions. 8-)

Joined the EPL league, here's my current (and very provisional) team:

Image

I'm anticipating/hoping Taarabt will be this year's Charlie Adam (the star goalscoring midfielder of the newly promoted side who stands out from the rest of the team and will therefore attract bonus points aplenty even if they don't win most of their games). I'll have Given between the sticks most weeks but I fancy Fulham next weekend so Al-Habsi seems like a good shout for a cheap reliable keeper.

I need to focus on making less transfers this year. I play a league at work too and what has cost me in the last couple of years is my compulsive need to go all Harry Redknapp and make lots of transfers rather than taking the long term view.

Team name is 'Team of Davie Weirs' by the way.
