only should be allowed to fight if the rules aren't changed at all. i'm sorry but i think the idea of this guy fighting ridiculous enough for mma,it's a freak show almost. if he wants to risk getting ****** up then that's up to him. but there should be no exceptions or special rules made in his case. if i was a fighter, and i had to fight this guy, i would keep my distance. i wouldn't go in close to give him a chance at all, and repeatedly throw leg kicks to his skull until he's ko'd. you see the leg kicks shouldn't count as soccer kicks to the head, because it's his fault he's small and has no legs not mine. i'd then pound his face into the mat once he went down and feel no remorse what so ever. i hope his opponent does this to him. mma doesn't need freak shows to spoil it.

No offence intended, but it's this part of MMA I despise and possibly the biggest factor in me not being much of a fan. I know boxing can be just as brutal, but it just seems so much more sporting.

WUT?!

Does he take his wheelchair into the ring?! WTF??

Yea that's him. I think that was when he fought on affliction day of reckoning against anderi arlovski. i want to see fedor fight brock lesnar, even fedor himself has said he would like to fight him. would be an awsome match. or fight frank mir. i guess it depends on who wins a ufc 100 between lesnar and mir.

Lesnar is over rated as a fighter. He's only got a title shot because his popularity as a wrestler will bring new fans to MMA.

Didn't Lesner already fight Mir? I have only seen a couple of fights of his so far, the debut, he loses due to him lowering his guard and him winning the title.

3 Fights in the UFC - Mir (L), Herring (W, Decision), Couture (W, TKO)
His first fight was in K1 against Min Soo Kim (W, Sub by punches). This fight was originally going to be Hong Man Choi but he pulled out.

As far as ex-wrestlers go it would be worth keep an eye on Bobby Lashley who is doing things the right way.

Just watched the Froch fight. First 5 rounds I thought he was screwed, he looked limp. Then just as the commentators said Taylor blew up exactly on cue. To me Froch would've lost without that stoppage in my eyes. It was so close. But those last 3 rounds he finally came alive and his last round was superb. Ref made the right choice Taylor had been knocked down and seconds later was on the ropes taking hit after hit, he wasn't looking forward and was all over the place. He was still stood yes but in his head he was on the mat. While Froch wasn't ever really in any real danger he did look weak. Not a convincing win but his comeback from the tenth was impressive. I've got massive doubts that he'll go any further.

Couldn't agree more. He was behind on the cards going into the last, even a 10-8 would have meant a loss. A better fighter than Taylor would have seen him off. Kelly Pavlik might be a good opponent for Froch.

Pavlik would be the natural progression as he beat Taylor under similar circumstances. If Froch could get past Pavlik then he'd get the elevation he's looking for and his undefeated streak might look a bit more credible.

8-)

You can call me The Oracle if you like. I didn't see Froch going down at all, but I foresaw the rest. Froch started sloppily, winging power shots and not reacting quick enough to Taylor's combinations, but his trainer Robert McCracken did a masterful job with his corner advise. Froch started to use his jab-straight right combination from round 7 onwards, occasionally reverting to his sloppy ways, but eventually settling. Taylor gassed out as predicted, but a lot of that had to do with the increased pace Froch was fighting at and the jabs he was eating. The Showtime analysts got it spot on when they said that Froch can go as far as his chin and heart can, because he will get to you eventually and has the power to hurt anyone.

Typically Froch called out Calzaghe again, and it's a fight I wouldn't mind seeing, but Calzaghe has nothing to prove and I feel he'd outbox Froch comfortably. Unlike Taylor, there is no chance that Calzaghe will gas.

If you were a true oracle you'd have put money on it.

Let's have more of your predictions and see if we can earn a few quid 8-)

I only bet on fights I'm really sure of! That was my prediction, based on the Froch and Taylor fights I've watched and the variables, but I wasn't 100% confident. I always said that if Taylor could keep Froch nullified with his jab, he might win a lopsided decision. Fortunately Froch did what I predicted.

I've already made predictions for the other two big British fights coming up, but here are all of my current predictions:

May 2nd: Pacquiao vs Hatton - Pacquiao on points,
May 9th: Dawson vs Tarver - Dawson on points,
June 13th: Cotto vs Clottey - Cotto on points,
June 20th: W.Klitschko vs Haye - Haye by KO/TKO,
June 27th: Kotelnik vs Khan - Khan by KO/TKO,

Note: I'm vastly more confident in who will win rather than the method.

Oh wow, great fight. I was certain Froch was going to lose it. He was sloppy all night, didn't really worry Taylor with powerful punches. Then round 12, he sure put on the gas didn't he! I was certain if he hadn't have done that he would have lost the belt, easily. I was literally on the edge of my seat when it came to then end. Do love a good high profile fight, especially when the British take it to the Americian 8-)

Phatman got that result hands down, well played. Not sure I agree with your next prediction though ;)

Great last three rounds. Froch started horribly - hands way too low and he wasn't finding the ramge for his jab. Although he got knocked down, you could see he recovered very quickly. He looked more pissed off than stunned when he was sat on the canvas. Taylor's biggest problem was fitness - he looked like he was running out of gas and the one-two combinations that he blocked brilliantly for the majority of the fight started landing. Froch clearly rattled him in the 11th, bullying him backwards and then the big shots started connecting in the last round. Great finish from Froch, he knows when a guy is done. And Taylor was undoubtedly done, there was no fight in his eyes when the ref stopped it.

But, all in all, pretty poor performance from Froch for most of the fight. He can't rely on his chin forever, he really needs to work on his defence. As for Calzaghe...well the Joe that fought Kessler, Lacy and Roy Jones would run rings around him, IMO. Froch struggles with quick handspeed and Froch's own punches, because they come from so low, are often telegraphed.

I'm going for around 4am, but I'm supposed to be going out to a club and don't want to miss it.

Silva vs Griffin for UFC 101 CONFIRMED

Anderson Silva will meet Forrest Griffin in a light heavyweight co-main event at UFC 101 on Aug. 8 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.

MMABay.com was the first Web site to report the matchup Tuesday. UFC President Dana White confirmed the bout with Yahoo Sports shortly after.

Touted as the sport’s No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter after a string of knockout victories inside the Octagon, Silva handily earned a five-round unanimous decision over Thales Leites at UFC 97 on April 18 in Montreal. However, the Brazilian’s performance against his out-gunned opponent polarized fans and media. Silva’s controlled strategy was also questioned in his October 2008 victory over Patrick Cote at UFC 90.

With his UFC 97 victory, Silva, 33, now holds the record for consecutive wins (nine) inside the Octagon. His bout with Griffin will be his second at 205 pounds. Silva starched light heavyweight James Irvin with punches in just over a minute at UFC Fight Night 14 in July 2008.

The winner of season one of Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter,” Griffin (16-5) became the UFC light heavyweight champion at UFC 86 in July 2008, where he took a hard-earned unanimous decision over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Griffin lost the title to Rashad Evans via a third-round technical knockout at UFC 92 last December.
