Yes - because he's a champion. But we are going round in circles here.
Brerlappin wrote:Yeah, makes sense. Give him a WW shot next, maybe LHW after that? Thatd make a nice poster for your bedroom! Connie Mac with FOUR belts!! *Swoon*
If he did that it would be the greatest achievement in sporting history.
Brerlappin wrote:And there already is an asterisk over his career. He had the easiest road to a FW title shot of anyone, and now if he does get the LW belt, he gets it without having a single FW defense? Yeah cause that's what real champions do right? Sure, maybe in the strawberry floatin WWE.
Yeah what you've put there is possibly the most retarded thing I've ever read.
Win 19–2 José Aldo
Win 18–2 Chad Mendes
Win 17–2 Dennis Siver
Win 16–2 Dustin Poirier
Win 15–2 Diego Brandão
Win 14–2 Max Holloway
Win 13–2 Marcus Brimage
Denis Siver aside that is some list.
Champion : Conor McGregor
1 Jose Aldo (Interim Champion - won once since losing to Connor in emphatic fashion)
2 Frankie Edgar (coming off a loss)
3 Max Holloway (9 fight win streak - the one man for me with a legitimate claim)
4 Ricardo Lamas (just lost to max)
5 Cub Swanson (not fought Connor, on a 2 fight win streak but lost previously to Frankie and Holloway)
6 Anthony Pettis
7 Jeremy Stephens
8 Charles Oliveira
9 Dennis Bermudez
10 Brian Ortega
The only ranked people with legitimate claims to a title shot Connor has already beaten.
Brerlappin wrote:Hes been strawberry floating babied because he makes money. End of. He got his gooseberry fool destroyed by a Diaz bro who walked off a party boat and into the octagon on 11 days notice. Never defended any of his CW titles either.
Again your theory holds no water. He's not been babied (outlined above) and the reason he makes so much money is because he turns up to fight and puts on a show every time he's in the octagon.
The only time the UFC has caved into Connor's demands is with the rematch with Nate - a fight its worth mentioning Connor won against a man who on the night had 20lbs on him. The first fight with Nate was a late replacement.
The UFC wanted this Alvarez fight because its the biggest scrap it could put on for its first event in NY.
Brerlappin wrote:He's just an over hyped loudmouth that appeals to casual plebs.
That's probably the smuggest, most arrogant thing I've ever read.
I just don't understand your absolute hate for Connor and his undeserving title shot when this weekend Dan Henderson a man rankined 13th in the division and riding a massive 1 fight win streak is going against Bisping for the belt.
