I'm hoping for a proper war. Think McGregor can take it in the first few rounds if he keeps up his face pounding like he did in the first round of the last fight but Nates BJJ is so slick that he can take it If it goes into the later rounds. Proper excited.

Not arsed about this PPV at all. Diaz won the first fight fair and square and the rematch is utterly pointless and serves no other reason than to just make the UFC more money. Maybe the little banana split will actually go back to defending his belt again after this (if he can actually make that weight), or maybe he'll get another rematch from Uncle Dana if he loses again so he can get his win back.

Ach he may be a loudmouth but he brings in the money, brings the mainstream audience, and however much you dislike him you're always guaranteed an entertaining bout. Not that many other fighters can provide that.

Couldn't really care less about him bringing in money or that, but it's pretty clear that's the main thing the UFC cares about these days when deciding who fights who and that's one of the main reasons my interest in it has fallen off a cliff.

It's a fair point about the money but I like that it's becoming increasingly popular, is nice to be able to talk to more folk about it.

Same gooseberry fool happens everywhere, one of boxing's major issues.

They've put a line of security in the ring to separate Mcgregor and Diaz

This is now sillier than wrestling

Uh, no it didn't. That was a good fight and I (just about) agree with the result.

What's also bad is he gave up his gameplan (which was working) completely. He reminds me of Kimbo Slice and I'm not even joking. Good at about two things, except luckily he has charisma and can talk.

Not a chance mate. McGregor busted him up, knocked him down twice and Nate had his chance in the third to win it but somehow McGregor survived. Agree about the cardio, he looked awful in that 3rd round but actually got a little better towards the end.

No way Nate won. McGregor outboxed Diaz, slipping shots, counter punches, jabs landing hard. Defending takedowns. Anyone who denies it is kidding themselves. That was a clear decision for McGregor.

What am I reading? McGregor was clearly the better man in the first two, Nate really stepped it up at the end of two right through 3. McGregors second wind won the 4th and would give Diaz the 5th due to the takedown.

No doubting McGregor gassed though in the third but both men brought it. Great fight.

Conor won, but it was pretty close IMO. Diaz landed more strikes, more significant strikes, more takedowns (albeit only 1) and did most of the pressuring, particularly as Conor kept running away. Conor did get more knockdowns (3 I think it was) though and it looked like he did more damage. Diaz really needs to get that scar tissue removed, makes him bleed too easily. How is Conor's cardio so gooseberry fool?

McGregor already talking about a rematch. :dread: Make him defend his belt against Aldo FFS. :fp:

And that combo from Cerrone was a thing of beauty. :datass:

Well I thought that fight was awesome and I usually dislike fights that go to judge's decision. 202 was way better than 200.

It's got to be the favourite for Fight of the Year.

Apparently this one fight alone was a bigger payday for Nate than all his previous fights together. Don't understand how UFC are so cheap with the salaries. It's certainly a big enough sport that you can offer more than they do now and make it "break out the red panties" night for all.

It was a great fight, I won't call it a war, not like to the level of shogun vs hendo. But it was still entertaining. Conor isn't a natural 170lbs that's why he gasses early and this fight was even more evident of that fact. 145-155 he should be a lot more comfortable going 5 rounds.

Watching the fight on BT I found it odd that they had to apologise for the bad language in the after fight interviews. Diaz's face was a horror show but they had to apologise for him saying strawberry float? Anyone watching mma shouldn't be offended by a rude word.

They also warned that the show contained physical violence at the end of each ad break.

Stupid sexy Condit :x

Be interesting to see how Pettis gets on, he's on a 3 loss streak at the moment. :dread: Crazy how far/fast his stock has fallen, given where he was 18 months ago.

I've seen less talk of McGregor too (thankfully). I think people were on the hype train for a while, which promptly got derailed, and now people just seem to have lost interest. I don't think he'll stick around much longer actually - wouldn't be surprised to see him retire now that he's made his money and try and persue some other kind of career.

Maia vs Condit should be good. Ridiculously good jujitsu with Maia, you'd have to be mad to try and do anything other than stand up with him.

Have PPV figures been released for 202?
