I agree. Bellew is not excellent.

Five live are going mad now about haye's trainers. Calling him a fool for wearing them as they have no support.

A shite fighter?!

While I dont doubt that the Haye of 5 years ago would have won comfortably Bellew was fighting as light heavyweight a few years ago, has now won a cruiserweight title, and just beat a heavyweight when not many people gave him a chance. (I won £130!)

To be fair though Haye was seriously injured for half of the fight. I would say Haye was ahead leading up to that and would have beaten him if he could use his feet.

Looking at it maybe Bellew could fight the winner of (Hughie) Fury v Parker.

While Haye might have been edging it in the first 5/6 rounds if he didnt manage to knock Bellew out in that time, which he didnt, he was always likely to struggle in the second half of the fight.

I can only judge it how I saw it and for me Bellew was the one backing off for five rounds and Haye was pursuing, making good shots to the body he looked like the one in the better shape. Once Haye's ankle went the fight turned completely. Haye was actually making the better combinations before that and Bellew was that knackered he couldnt even finish off a fighter with one leg.

I think Bellew's plan was always just to get to the second half of the fight.

I agree Bellew was also tired and seemed to take longer than what he needed to get Haye out after the injury but once it happened there was no need to rush into it.

This is one of the commentators on BBC Round Five:

There's a look of menace and confidence about David Haye. He has a look of experience. You can see him thinking 'it's just a matter of time'.

I am impressed with Haye.

Then he gets injured and the fight is over for him.

Bellew took everything Haye threw at him before the injury.

EDIT: Im not particularly disputing Haye might have won just the opinion Bellew is a "shite fighter".

To be fair he didnt take a lot because he didn't engage him. He was backing off probably hoping he could tire Haye out as you say but really for five rounds he didn't do anything.

No he's not a shite fighter. He's just been fighting in a division where there's not a lot of big names at the moment so his achievements have gone under the radar.

The 209 prelims have been better than anything on 208. Two ridiculous comebacks

Neither is remotely limited but they perfectly neutralize each other

There were only two rounds he could've possibly won

I've never seen Woodley do anything. He's a power puncher who can sit on people. Boring asf.

No chance he won that though. Who the strawberry float gave that fight to Tyron? :fp:

He won two rounds and lost three. End of.

I think they've scored both rounds he won 10-8

Boring AF main event fight.

Hunt vs Overeem started slow too but that was a nasty and quick finish.

That is bullshit. Can understand giving the last round as a 10-8 but there's no way he won 3 rounds.
