No strawberry floating surprise. Now lets just wait for Overeem or JDS to get injured and then strawberry floating Aldo again... probably.

He's a machine. Thought it might at least get to the third round but he was just too much for him. Scary how powerful he is, he makes it look like he's fighting complete amateurs.

I hope they stick with sky sports as a promotion rather than switching to box office

I thought it'd be a third round ko too - the punching power AJ must have is absolutely insane.

You could see when they entered the ring the Scotsman wasn't conditioned nearly as well though. He didn't look in great shape despite the commentators praising his dedicated training.

I'm not a Diaz fan at all, but a $100k fine and 5 year ban is insane. :fp:

So if he'd done a drug that actually helps with fighting he would've got less time?

To be fair I suppose it does have pain relieving properties. Although only a complete maniac would want to fight high as hell, and from what I remember of the test results Diaz must have been flying.

So it turns out that Fedor signed with a regional Japanese promotion who have promised him more money than the UFC were willing to pay. Makes you wonder how much the UFC were offering. Shame.

Probably not 2.5 mill. So tbh I don't honestly blame the guy. Also the Reebok sponsorship money was probably a joke in comparison. I'm a little gutted, I would of liked to see him in the UFC, but it's wishful thinking. I even had convinced myself that this time he actually would come to the UFC. But now I don't think it even matters in all honesty. He'll get some easy fights in Japan and probably retire again or may the UFC (I know).

Also Rampage has a Twitch channel, watching him play some zombie game

Sponsorship's probably the deal breaker, another promotion only has to offer similar money to UFC and he'll make loads more because of no reebok contract

Also it's not like Fedor needs the UFC to boost his profile. For example he's not some young up and coming fighter. He's established himself in the sport. Whether or not he fought the best is merely a negative from a spectator/fan perspective. Personally though, it's a deal that gives him more money, own sponsorships, I imagine the PPV sales over there might even be decent because he's well liked in Japan and they know him.

Ex-UFC champ Jon Jones avoids jail time, gets probation following hit-and-run

Jon Jones today pled guilty to one felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, but he avoided jail time when a judge granted him a conditional discharge.

“Mr. Jones, you got real lucky, and in a number of ways, I think you need to talk to young people because making one stupid decision changes your entire future,” Judge Charles Brown of the Second Judicial District Court said today during the former UFC light-heavyweight champion’s hearing.

Jones, 28, was given up to 18 months supervised probation and will be required to make 72 speaking appearances. Under the terms of his plea agreement, he will avoid a felony conviction as long as he finishes probation and completes the speaking engagements without incident, and his probation could be ended earlier than 18 months if the court so decides.

I'm sure that's a typical sentence for someone with a previous DUI.
