If you were a true oracle you'd have put money on it.

Let's have more of your predictions and see if we can earn a few quid 8-)

I only bet on fights I'm really sure of! That was my prediction, based on the Froch and Taylor fights I've watched and the variables, but I wasn't 100% confident. I always said that if Taylor could keep Froch nullified with his jab, he might win a lopsided decision. Fortunately Froch did what I predicted.

I've already made predictions for the other two big British fights coming up, but here are all of my current predictions:

May 2nd: Pacquiao vs Hatton - Pacquiao on points,
May 9th: Dawson vs Tarver - Dawson on points,
June 13th: Cotto vs Clottey - Cotto on points,
June 20th: W.Klitschko vs Haye - Haye by KO/TKO,
June 27th: Kotelnik vs Khan - Khan by KO/TKO,

Note: I'm vastly more confident in who will win rather than the method.

Oh wow, great fight. I was certain Froch was going to lose it. He was sloppy all night, didn't really worry Taylor with powerful punches. Then round 12, he sure put on the gas didn't he! I was certain if he hadn't have done that he would have lost the belt, easily. I was literally on the edge of my seat when it came to then end. Do love a good high profile fight, especially when the British take it to the Americian 8-)

Phatman got that result hands down, well played. Not sure I agree with your next prediction though ;)

Great last three rounds. Froch started horribly - hands way too low and he wasn't finding the ramge for his jab. Although he got knocked down, you could see he recovered very quickly. He looked more pissed off than stunned when he was sat on the canvas. Taylor's biggest problem was fitness - he looked like he was running out of gas and the one-two combinations that he blocked brilliantly for the majority of the fight started landing. Froch clearly rattled him in the 11th, bullying him backwards and then the big shots started connecting in the last round. Great finish from Froch, he knows when a guy is done. And Taylor was undoubtedly done, there was no fight in his eyes when the ref stopped it.

But, all in all, pretty poor performance from Froch for most of the fight. He can't rely on his chin forever, he really needs to work on his defence. As for Calzaghe...well the Joe that fought Kessler, Lacy and Roy Jones would run rings around him, IMO. Froch struggles with quick handspeed and Froch's own punches, because they come from so low, are often telegraphed.

So anybody know what time the Hatton fight will be on Sat? (sunday morning)

I'm going for around 4am, but I'm supposed to be going out to a club and don't want to miss it.

Silva vs Griffin for UFC 101 CONFIRMED

Anderson Silva will meet Forrest Griffin in a light heavyweight co-main event at UFC 101 on Aug. 8 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.

MMABay.com was the first Web site to report the matchup Tuesday. UFC President Dana White confirmed the bout with Yahoo Sports shortly after.

Touted as the sport’s No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter after a string of knockout victories inside the Octagon, Silva handily earned a five-round unanimous decision over Thales Leites at UFC 97 on April 18 in Montreal. However, the Brazilian’s performance against his out-gunned opponent polarized fans and media. Silva’s controlled strategy was also questioned in his October 2008 victory over Patrick Cote at UFC 90.

With his UFC 97 victory, Silva, 33, now holds the record for consecutive wins (nine) inside the Octagon. His bout with Griffin will be his second at 205 pounds. Silva starched light heavyweight James Irvin with punches in just over a minute at UFC Fight Night 14 in July 2008.

The winner of season one of Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter,” Griffin (16-5) became the UFC light heavyweight champion at UFC 86 in July 2008, where he took a hard-earned unanimous decision over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Griffin lost the title to Rashad Evans via a third-round technical knockout at UFC 92 last December.

Seems like an arse? I thought he was pretty sound. Didnt say much and wasnt overly cocky.

His takedowns were weak, once he got that other bloke on the ground he didnt know how to finish. The american guy was really weak on the ground too though (and he clearly tapped in the first round).

I'd be surprised if it starts before 4am, but be back for then, because that could be the exact start time. Depends how long the undercard lasts really - which is why they never announce when the main event will start.

Can't wait for this fight now!

He went the distance! that is still pretty impressive in it's own merits.

So before saturday, anyone got any links or anything to where one might watch the fight online??

I can't find any right now unfortunately. Usually I get them on the night anyway off a boxing forum I am a member of, but they aren't always that reliable. I'm watching it on round a friend's on his 'dodgy box' anyway, which is usually flawless quality.

Well if you have trouble finding one, I will definately be able to find you or anyone else a direct download link the morning after the fight. On one of the boxing forums I visit, there is the boxing equivalent of Sarge, who always has big fights uploaded and posted within hours of them finishing. I'm making a bit of an event of Hatton vs Pacquiao though, so I shall be watching live!
