No. That particular honour goes to Perfect Dark.

Best New Downloadable Game:

I don't think Perfect Dark really fits that description.

Answer me these questions three:

Was it released this year?
Is it downloadable?
Are you familiar with the term "technicality?"

I've really enjoyed this year and I didn't make a single dud purchase (AvP might be the exception :shifty: ) yet I'm struggling to pick out a really stand out game that I've played. The obvious choice would be Mass Effect 2 but I was a little disappointed that they got rid of most of the RPG elements. Other than that I would probably pick Halo: Reach as it's such a magnificent package. I really should put some more time into SMG2 as well, I just can't be bothered to fire up the wii :fp:

I think I played it a little too safe with my purchases as everything bar maybe one or two games was a sequel, I'm yet to play Red Dead Redemption, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, Vanquish, Blur and probably a few others.

I think Perfect Dark would be more suited to:

I've gotta say i've not spent this much on games than i have this year for a long time.

Mass Effect 2 is the first game in a long time to really get me gripped by just not the game - but the game universe. Thanks to how amazing the game was i found myself reading the books, comics, etc.

If there was a category for favourite gaming moment this year - the Suicide Mission would definitely get my vote

My Top 3 picks from this year are:

1. Mass Effect 2
2. Red Dead Redemption
3. Alan Wake

Top 3 games i'm ooking forward to next year are:

1. Mass Effect 3 (in the unlikely event it comes out next year)
2. Gears of War 3
3. Bulletstorm

Some of you play a bloody shitload of games. I'm struggling to think of 5 I've played this year.

Fallout NV
Mass Effect 2
Halo Reach
Perfect Dark

Still not played: StarCraft 2, Civ 5, Stalker CoP, Red Dead Redemption...

Perhaps, but doubt I'll give them a good enough play in time to vote.

Interesting how some people are voting for full games in the best DLC catagory. Very interesting. I was considering voting for Halo: Reach's expanded race options in the innovation award but I've changed my mind and put the game up for best racer instead. If everyone else changes their votes accordingly I think we can make it happen.

I took Mass Effect out of my Action/Adventure category, as I have just remembered Splinter Cell and well... I have voted for Mass Effect for just about everything other than the Music category.

GT5 has only just released but I'm pretty sure that it'll be my GotY.

HOWEVER, I do have a massive soft spot for Alan Wake. It's easily the best XBOX360 release that I've played this year...it's in my top 2 XBOX360 games of all time...so it's a very strong contender.

Next year...strawberry floating hell, where do I start. I mean 2011 is going to piss all over 2010. So many good games coming and there may be more.

I don't think I can really vote in this as I've not played/bought that many games this year.

No reason why you can't, Jam. Vote in the categories you think you're qualified to vote in, really.

I don't even know what is due out next year :( and to be honest, I'm not sure if I care :|

It seems like such a long time ago when we had 2006, 2007 and 2008. Amazing years.

I'm honestly struggling to remember the last time we had a bad year for videogames. Sure there have been years where I've been disappointed by some of the big games but the overall quality still seems to be climbing up year on year.

Uncharted 3, Ord? You know something the rest of the world doesn't?

Almost disappointingly, there's little in that list I actually care about, Ord.

Batman, DX, BG&E and ICO/Shadow of the Colossus (because I didn't play any of them the first time round), Dead Space 2, Zelda and the 3DS.

I'm not holding out much hope for DX, but it'd be nice for them to prove me wrong with it. The 3DS is probably going to take up the vast majority of my money next year though, so actually, it could be alright if there's not much on the home consoles that appeals to me

In b4 Nick and his "Oh, they're all crappy sequels" line.

It's a rumour that it'll make it's first appearance (video teaser) at the Spike VGA awards in December.
