It's a rumour that it'll make it's first appearance (video teaser) at the Spike VGA awards in December.

Oh I knew about the rumour (I'm also hoping the Mass Effect 3 and new Resident Evil ones are true too, not to mention the possibility of a new SSX) but I thought I may have missed something.

Being a huge fan of the other two Uncharted games, I'm also hoping for a reveal at the VGAs.

I'm not so sure about the Mass Effect 3 rumour. I know that Bioware has been working on an action shooter game (not an RPG) for a couple of years now. Perhaps they are ready to reveal that before Mass Effect 3.

I'm certain ME3 has been in development all year but I'm just hoping for an official announcement soon, though I actually expected an E3 reveal rather than the VGAs. I can still hope though...

Really confused this year, so many stroing contenders. It's going to be a three way scrap to the death between Bayonetta, SMG2 and RDR, all for very different reasons. Tough, tough call, it's been a real vintage year for me, and there's still stuff I haven't got round to yet.

Surprised at the love for ME2. I really liked the first but haven't got round to the second, sequels rarely appeal to me, might give it a rent if I can get my ME1 save back.

Bloody tough year to vote.

My GOTY has changed multiple times and I can't even say what it might be now with GT5 only just getting started and DKCR still to come

I really wanted to add Red Dead Redemption to my list but it just doesn't fit in anywhere, it's such a shame... I wish there could have been a 'Best Sandbox Game' award or something!

EDIT: I found a category I could fit it into. :)

Import Game Of Year Get. Which is Pokémon White basically.

Meh, I don't really import that much so it'll do :P Other than that I'm happy with everything, even though I'm finding it hard to decide what makes GoTY. Fallout NV is strongest one, but I am also thinking of Mass Effect 2 or Super Mario Galaxy 2.

There's also RDR still to start, need to finish off Alan Wake (on Episode 4 now), and Vanquish to start. I pretty much play more games that's not out this year.

I know it's a bit late in the day but wouldn't a "Biggest Surprise" award be a good idea?

It's a shame, since both Cataclysm and Starcraft 2 deserve to be up there, but they won't as people don't play PC games on this forum. Starcraft 2 being one of if not the highest rated RTS game of all time.

How do you know Cataclysm deserves to be up there? It's not out for nearly two weeks.

The majority of the Cataclysm content (the new world & new lvl 1 - 60 quests, all starter zones bar Goblin & Worgen, & new graphical improvements as well as music) has been live since last week.

from my previous post -

2011
Child of Eden
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
The 3DS

In that case Child of Eden is a possibility as I enjoyed Rez.
Deus Ex looks interesting, however I think I'm the only one in the world who hasn't played the first 2 titles. I imagine that any previous story will be covered though for people like me.
The 3DS is hardware but it's probably the thing I'm looking foward to most.

Fair enough but surely that doesn't automatically mean that the entire Cataclysm content (the quests, etc. that will make up the expansion proper) will be worthy of GotY awards?
I know Blizzard are incredibly talented and the likelihood is that Cataclysm will be quality but it seems that there is a lot of assumption and nothing concrete yet.

I'd kick Bayonetta out of there straight away and toss RB3 and GT5 to the mix. It's going to be a stupidly difficult choice

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a prequel to the previous games and is indeed set 25 years before the first game took place. Excellent for newcomers into the series.

Angry Birds is easily the best downloadable game of the year for me.
