It really shouldn't.

This is the first GOTY awards Ive seen on here that haven't had a stupid number of categories, well done for showing some restraint Buff.

Top 100?

Also be clear on what the generation actually includes, when it comes to Wii and handheld consoles? What about PC (are you talking anything from November 2005 onwards, or before that, or till a certain date)? Just think about those things clearly before you ask people to vote.

Skippy it's almost as if that GIF actually summons Hugo to the thread.

Why taking it so seriously? It's just a bit of fun, it's not the Oscars.

So putting thought into something means you're taking it too seriously?

I'm conflicted between top 50 and top 100? I would consider the Vita and 3DS to be eligible. As for PC, a game released in the release window, and/or if it can be bought on current gen (360 etc machines).

Are you going to ask people for their top 50 or 100? Or ask for a top 10 or 20 and then create a list from that?

So what about PSP and DS are they included too?

Xbox 360 was released in November 2005, so any PC game after that or that came out on other eligible platforms? That seems reasonable.

I think a top 30 list would suffice as a top 50/100 list may put off people who don't want to spend a lot of time making lists.

I don't think that the Vita or 3DS should be included in the same generation as the PS3/360/Wii given that we're looking at the previous generation i.e. games on consoles which have since been succeeded by new consoles. I think that the DS and PSP should be used instead.

PC games are tricky but I think that anything that was released between 2005 and 2013 or is available on the PS3/360/Wii/DS/PSP should be included.

Ask for a top 10 or 15, 20 is A LOT for me to count.
Yes to PSP and DS.
Yes, any PC game after November 2005.

10 is far too restrictive for 8 years and 6 formats.

I was actually thinking 25, but I suppose seeing as you are doing the count, just as many as you feel comfortable with.

Then you can look at how many different games have got votes to decide on if you do a top 50 or 100 from what you have.
