Yeah, I go along with the idea that it's best to have a relatively small number of viewers as this makes it easier - for both the streamer and the viewers - to participate in the chat. The streams done by GRcadians are ace as the crowd has friendly chat and banter :-) .

Re: The appeal of watching particularly big streamers that generally won't interact with your comments (because there are so many of them or because they might not even bother).

I didn't really get it myself, and there are few big streamers I bother tuning in to. One was ClintStevens, who I think only responded to me in chat once when I said hello, but I stayed on for his variety streams (because he speedruns sometimes) because he was funny in his commentary and in his gameplay online.

He wasn't amazingly entertaining all the time, but watching his channel became a familiar/comforting routine. Sort of the same thing for the big speedrunner I watch (ZFG1), but moreso for the gameplay element in that case. Not a speedrunner of Ocarina of Time myself but I became familiar enough with the speedruns that it's fun to tune in to see how they're doing. But ZFG's commentary is also pretty decent for a speedrunner.

I definitely dig the smaller streams with more interaction more though.

On another note, thank you guys for posting notifications for my stream here. Appreciate you all tuning in.

one of the very first streams I watched was ZFG1. He was running OoT 100% and he was kicking its arse. He barely beat his WR due to a technical fault... His pad got unplugged. It was a 4-hour stream. Loved it tbh, been following him since 2014. I tune in now and then because there is no way I can do what he does.

Gonna be playing through the entirety of Tetris Effect's Journey Mode in 5 mins, if anyone wants to watch.

I can't engage with chat, as I'll be focused on the game, but if you wanna chill out to some of that goddamned Tetris, feel free.

Normally takes me about 5 continues, but I'm hoping the added pressure of it being streamed can get me to do it in one shot.

Thanks to those who popped in to watch. Didn't quite manage to get it all in one shot but two continues ain't bad.

I don't know if this kind of focused "challenge" stream is something I should do more often. It certainly makes it more enjoyable for me, the idea that some passerby could stop to watch over my shoulder, but I don't know if it's that engaging when I can't interact.

Going to play some SotN soon. Having trouble with my PS. It's started randomly switching itself on and off and every time I put it on I have to do a restore thing. I think I need a new one tbh.

S'all good! The streams here are generally commentary laden but there's still room for gameplay only ones, nice to have them on in the background. Post in future if you do more!

Sorry I didn't dial in, jiggles, but I was in Kriken's stream at the time! As Jazzem says, generally the chat is pretty lively when GRcadians stream but it feels like there's definitely room for your "challenge"-type of gameplay - it could be cool to watch.

Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes but I shall be attempting my first stream tonight!

I want to keep things fresh and don't want to be too repetitive so I would like to make my stream very viewer engaging. I could do a new Let's Go Eevee play through where the viewers decide what my team should be and what I should name them. (could make for entertaining results!)

Alternatively I could do a shiny hunt stream or play a completely different game!

Ow my toes! Nah that's cool Doom, defo up for watching. Internet seems to be working properly again (touch wood) so may stream a little bit later today myself, but probably not for too long regardless of whether it holds up.

Awesome thanks guys! Sadly I can't get my Switch to capture (thought I could botch it without a capture card, turns out 8 was wrong!) so I shall pick one up ASAP.

Nevertheless I shall contiue! Just with a different game! Either something on xbox one or something retro!

Did you try doing the whole switch via Xbox One thing? I've only read about it, so can't help, just curious if that's what you tried is all.

Also, what time you planning on streaming? I'm going to go out with my 2 eldest for Pokémon go for an hour, so wondering if you'll be live when I get back to sit down with some Pizza to watch.
