They work extremely well as Xmas cards.

There's something about the whimsical nature of the comic book callouts and the line style that just clicks plus the jokes don't seem contrived. I think previously what might have been missing is a message or a voice with the work so they communicated more than drawings of the characters. Giving them purpose and context just seems to have altered the dynamic of what you're doing there, adding value. You've added the voice of a narrator putting homour into the images, I think you should do more with that and you might see some sales with the commodity of that so cards and magnets etc as you were. I think a lot of artwork is great but when you're looking at a customer messaging is important, whether that's the words i.e. sales copy, name or story behind a work (context) or associated text, it does seem to enhance things that appropriate or otherwise use cultural icons by putting your own spin on it.

Worthing Wormhole Comic Con update. As of Friday night I'm in a show at a gallery in town. I was working during the opening so don't really know how it went. I know I sold 1 fridge magnet, which got put next to some Mario ones. This is on for 3 weeks and its full of artists who are at the main event.

How I feel right now is not fun. :dread: I think I'm basically ready for set up tomorrow morning but I've just got this horrible feeling I've forgotten something or will forget something or something will go horribly wrong.

Tbh this is how I feel nearly everyday but just less so.

Try and relax just a little, Matt - you’ve prepared some excellent stuff to sell and you’ve lined up a wonderful show at which you can share your work.

Take a deep breath, think what a great experience it’s gonna be and just go with the flow :) .

Good luck, dude!

You know, I never thought about it. I can't make it tomorrow, but it's not hundreds of miles from me - I've checked and I think I could get to that neck of the woods by train(s) in around 2.5 hours. Maybe at a future event. It'd be good to pick up a couple more fridge magnets!

If anyone will be in the area of Worthing tomorrow, click here for event and location details.

EDIT: Actually, looking at the ticket sales, it seems that they've sold out?!?

Hope everything goes well tomorrow :)

I hope you get lots of sales. We need you to show the chumps on mario kart deluxe who's boss :)

Remember courage isn't a matter of not being frightened, you know. It's being afraid and doing what you have to do anyway.

Good luck :)

Have a great opening day Matt! I'm sure you'll sell shitloads. Most important thing though, is to just enjoy it. Have fun!

Starting to get really quiet now but I've made my money back on the table fee. Not exactly in profit though.

It must be a cool experience to be at the show and get your work visible, Matt. Cash-wise you’ve broke even but there is a lot of benefit in raising your profile. Top man!

Are you gonna be staying on to join the cos-play in the evening...?
