Well the first weekend is done! Two more to go. :toot:

I'm looking at maybe getting some more things printed this week (depending on cost and how long it will take) so I wanted to ask, anything you lot would like to see done?

Would the fridge magnets come under "printing"? I think your Midna / Wolf Link / orange background pic would work really well... and maybe the Zelda Ocarina pic, too? How much do you charge for each magnet, Matt?

Yeah they would. I'm selling them at £2 each or 3 for £5. So far everyone has bought them as threes. So I'm thinking if I add a few more options that might help. I'd like to do the Midna/Wolf Link one. But I'm not sure if the OOT one will work so well as they are quite small. I suppose I could order some larger ones perhaps. Might go back through the thread for ideas..... :shifty:

That cost sounds pretty reasonable, Matt. I think the Midna one could be terrific; the clear image on the bold background would work well. I agree that perhaps the Ocarina image may be a little complex for the smaller size. Just a thought... maybe your R2D2 draw would be a good fit? As with your Doctor Who magnets, it may be that the single character / bold background is the ideal setup.

Thanks Jawa. I shall think about this. I'd like to do R2. The singing chef is a Star Wars fan. Actually...... here he is! Just not cooking.

Fair play to the chef. You gotta have balls to sing in public like that. Oh, and as for the fridge magnet development work... "I'm excited!" :toot: .

Yeah. Vistaprint. I've done my business cards through them and tried some other things with mixed results. The fridge magnets looked good but some of the other things...... :? I'm probably better off just sticking to some simple things with them and looking at other places with specialists. But it will most likely cost me more. Stuff like phone cases are probably a no go as I cant afford to buy them in numbers to make it worth while. Too many variants of phones.

Do you think it may be a good start to try out the fridge magnets first? If you're comfortable with the quality, and the costs are reasonably manageable, then perhaps that could stand as a positive way to "test the market"?

Thinking off the top of my head, perhaps if you had a range of, say, five or six different videogame-related magnets, you could run a poll in GRcade to gain interest? Really random though: If you created five magnets, the sixth one could be the GRcade logo. By selling through GRcade, perhaps you could could have five-sixths of any profit made, whilst the final sixth going to GRcade?

That is all random thinking so apologies if I'm getting carried away or stepping on toes!

Dont worry Jawa.

They arrived today. The colours of the fridge magnets are a wee bit subdued but look ok.

It's ace to see that you're testing things out, dude! Kicking off with the not-so-good... yeah, the business cards haven't really captured the colour and detail of your Dead Sunflower painting; perhaps that piece uses a subtlety of colour and a degree of intricacy that doesn't quite work for the card printing process?

On to the great... man, I love that Midna / Wolf Link magnet and I really like R2D2 as well! The design of those pieces appears to be very well suited to the magnet production process. The Doctor Who ones look excellent, too; I suspect that, for Who fans, these could prove pretty popular. Is the R2 magnet the same size as the others; i.e. it's just turned ninety degrees? I think it is but it's not certainfrom the photo perspective.

As for other ideas... I had another look through your online Who portfolio and I wonder if the Weeping Angels would work really well? In particular, this one with the blue background? I'd also love to see your take on The Silence - either purple or pink - as a magnet; they would both look incredible!

How are you feeling about this experiment, Matt - do you think you may start selling a few of them? If you did make the magnets available to GRcadians then I'd be up for a few of them; probably Midna / Wolf Link (orange), R2D2 (pink), Weeping Angel (blue) and The Silence (purple).

PS as usual I may have got colours wrong; my eyes and all that  .
