Okay no worries, just by "the night phase will end at 11pm" I thought it meant that the night phase would end at 11pm.

Unfortunately, this means that there are now 2 innocent roles and 2 mafia roles left in the game. This meets the Mafia's win condition.

That's in the basics. I'll ammend that to be more specific next time, but nobody had been posting until this point so I didn't think it was a problem. It also states that the game switches to day phase once I've posted the results of the night phase, which I was in the process of figuring out (I've been whoring Overwatch).

I won't be running another game for a few weeks, but I'll try and flesh out my rules a bit more. Despite the fuckery, that was a very tense game.

Thanks for running it but gotta say, not well run. I know you are trying but I'm gonna sit out the next few StayGames until it's more reliable.

Tell me where in the rules it states explicitly that the night phase begins at 9PM and ends at 11PM. That's the basics, but some nights I've been late, some nights I've extended it, but I always start the night phase with:

NIGHT X BEGINS

and I always end it with:

NIGHT X ENDS

Results

Day X BEGINS

That's how I've run it since the beginning of the game and I can't not follow my own rules. Maybe I haven't fleshed them out enough or maybe I need to reword the basics, but thanks for taking part anyway. It's not easy running one of these games, especially one with so many special roles to keep track of.

I can't contradict the rules I've followed thus far. I'm sorry if you're upset by this, but I can't ignore one of the rules. A rule was broken (and nobody has broken it the 4 nights previous, in either game outside of Mini E who was godkilled on the second? night of the first game). I'm going to continue running these, because I enjoy it. I'm sorry if you feel I haven't been doing a good job, but I'm trying my hardest and I want to make the forum a more fun place to be with more stuff to do. Hopefully after a few more I'll be 10x better at running them and they'll run without a hitch.

Perhaps you'll all be 10x better at playing my games too!

Been following this with interest the last couple of days, it's been very entertaining. It seems a harsh way to end the game mind.

One thing I was wondering which I guess Qikz can answer, if the transporter swapped themselves with a mafia member, could the mafia send the kill order on that mafia member that night, effectively killing the transporter? Moggy seemed quite happy to announce who he was swapping with in the thread and I was wondering if that was a potential mafia play.

I'm now massively regretting the amount of time I put into this yesterday only for it to end like this. Which is a shame as yesterday was brilliant.

It's shite and especially when it's so pivotal. You could easily have made a different call there.

The issue I had here, was either I ignore Oblomov's rule breaking and I have one set of people moaning at me due to not following my own rules, or I take the hit, follow my own rules and end the game there and then. I can't take back what I did and I won't. Yes, it seriously sucks and now people probably won't want to play my games anymore, but it had to be done.

Drumstick, I'm sorry for all the time you spent yesterday, but an issue with people thinking I wasn't upholding the rules caused a shitshow there as well. I'll iron things out in my rules and make everything including the role pms super clear for next time so hopefully there's zero confusion next time.

My suggestion is to scrap the following:

The no editing rule - this appears to serve no purpose and is really annoying

The vote/lynch being in a certain format rule - again this one appears to be here just to annoy us. Like if it's clear someone is voting for someone it should not matter whether I use bold font or use a colon or whatever and sometimes in the throes of the game you simply forget about little things like that.

I'm happy to change the vote format if people really want me to, it just makes it much easier for me in order to go count the votes.

No worries SD - It's difficult running these things and you can rarely ever please everyone. You have to stick to your guns but also remember that it's important to take feedback on board.

I just can't believe that after the frantic panicking of yesterday having saved the game, outed the Mafia and killed the Godfather that the game has ended this way :lol:
