PostGRcade Shop: quality handmade Ts, "Larger" glasses & more. Share your merch ideas.

WELCOME!!

Image

The GRcade Shop is exclusively run by myself at BJUM digital design studio in Lewes, East Sussex to provide cool merch to GRcade. It helps support my involvement in the forum, and from time to time help cover running costs. Head over to http://grcade.co.uk/shop/ to add things to your basket, simply pay with PayPal or bank transfer and I handle the rest. Shipping to UK and Ireland within 10 working days.

Each item is handmade by me using a variety of cutting edge, high quality processes that ensure nothing leaving my studio is anything but an awesome keepsake to bring GRcade into the outside world. Each item you buy really helps me out and allows me to continue running GRcade.

At the moment there are a few key items on offer:

SHIRTS

I only use 100% preshrunk colour-fast heavy cotton shirts that I would wear myself. The graphics are a precision cut vinyl process that do not crack or fade and usually outlast the shirt itself, so this is not a cheap throwaway shirt you might get at a small stall or event somewhere, it is a piece of clothing that should last a long time and is superior to most printed shirts.

GLASSWARE

Larger, As In the Drink Larger Pint Glass

The eponymous "Larger, as in the drink Larger" glass is hand etched by myself with a permanent, high quality pearlescent finish similar to sandblasting, that is 100% dishwasher safe and will never fade away. It has a certain subtlety and etched on authentic, best-in-trade Arcoroc tempered (hardened glass, up to 5x more shatter resistant than typical glass. The glass is thicker with a weighted base and good formation. It comes in two styles, tulip or conical shape.

VINYL DECALS

Vinyl decals (sometimes called stickers but much better than a paper sticker) are great for decorating things like laptops, windows, cars, or pretty much anything you want to stick them to. At the moment I have the GRcade logo cut in full precision from the vector files, available in black, white or crimson red (very close to the "GRcade" red). Adherence is to basically anything, resistant to heat, sun, oil, dirt, water and most things, with a durability of up to 10 years indoors and 5 years outdoors (for example on a vehicle).

SOMETHING ELSE?

I'm still looking to expand the range of items to include mugs, keyrings, more shirt and glass designs etc., but if the meantime you have any ideas or custom colour/text/design requests please feel free to post and let me know and I can probably make it happen!

Cheers for your support. :)

Previous Updates

Update 19th February 2015

I'm pleased to announce the shop is back open following the big move. It can now be found at http://grcade.co.uk/shop/ with slightly improved URL structure (some bookmarks may have changed).

I also have 1x XL pac/invader T in white in stock for immediate dispatch as well as 1x Large GRcade Logo T in black so if you fancy these you can have them as soon as Saturday. Other orders will go out within 7 working days as I have to make them.

The much anticipated Larger pint glasses will be on sale NEXT WEEK after considerable "R&D" (ie I design and etch them myself!!). It will be available as both conical and tulip shape, the tulip will be slightly more expensive as it is very difficult to do, but this means I can offer a cheaper glass for those that like that shape anyway.

I hope to share more cool stuff with you all soon.

Yours

Green Gecko originally wrote:Who is interested in some vinyl GRcade stickers or tshirt prints?

I'm a professional vinyl graphic cutter, basically you know these as the sharp edged transfer stickers with very high quality block colour. Common for sticking on stuff like skate/snowboards, bikes, cars and even game consoles or phones. They can be as small or as massive as you like. I actually produce lettering for gallery walls. These are precision machine cut to exact curves and edges.

For example you could have the GRcade logo on your wall, car window or whatever you want, they will adhere to virtually any flat surface. Or I could create some designs based on memes.

I can also design and commission (or accept designs) to be professionally screen printed onto tshirts, canvas or pretty much any flat/fabric surface.

I'm thinking of opening a small shop to raise some funds. What do you think? And how much might you pay for a product like this?

This suggestion is a bit out there, but I would buy a GRcade Vinyl mascot figure for a high price.

A tshirt or mug with that GRcade logo made up from GRcadian usernames would be cool.

I could even make that as a massive sticker :) it looks cool, as it is like floating text wherever you stick it.

T-shirts would be subcontracted to a screen printing artist so would have to figure out if it's worth it, alternatively I could get some high end iron on, also a few different image transfer techniques. I'll experiment. :)

How much of a lead time would you be willing to wait (e.g 10 days) and would you be willing to pay upfront to cover the material costs (obviously t shirt and adhesive sign vinyl comes in at £10 per square metre)

This would probably be via PayPal so guess you could claim a refund if you were really pissed off. :shifty:

Do you mean like a figurine made of vinyl plastic? We don't have a mascot :(

I could in theory get 3D objects objects made too.

How much you you be willing to pay? I need to figure out costs. I might just do the screen printing myself and get someone to train me, but then it costs me 18 quid to get to the studio

That's adhesive vinyl for stickers, not t shirts. I'll buy those.

I'm thinking white, black and red, in regular, but possibly small or large to order for the first run.

I'll buy a T-Shirt but only if it has a picture of toast saying what goes on toast printed on a picture of a mug printed on a picture of a T-Shirt printed on the shirt.

Dude that's confusing.

I'll see if I can manage the 15 quid, might need to be something other than screen printing though.

So many Hugo quotes I'd want on a t-shirt.

I could do that, but I'd rather make something more graphical that's easier to reprograph in bulk. So I could make with simpler lines and colours.

Hugo quotes is a great idea.

"just plain wrong"

There are some great ideas, you really need a site with numerous shirt designs you can update, it can't be that hard because I always see people doing that.
As for stickers etc, it would be better to buy them in bulk, and then sell or use them as prizes.

Ideally you would set up ads, and then use the revenue you get off that to fund activities like this. Then it wouldn't be as painful ordering 20 cups etc.
