Good man, addsy0 - I'll add you to the player list tomorrow! What system will you be playing on?

That sounds great, Lotus - I hope your 360 controller is powered up and ready to go :-).

>>> Adventure update <<<

I really enjoyed seeing the classic intro - it was really cool at the time of release and it's still fun now! I'd forgotten that the first stage, Spiral Mountain, is a tutorial area. There are a surprising number of moves to learn quite quickly. After I was comfortable with that, I moved onto Mumbo's Mountain.

The level contains quite a number of things to do... and I'd forgotten just how much there is to collect! I got stuck in tackling the big monkey as I'd forgotten that I had to climb the tree to get an orange. I then struggled to find the five skulls and I thought I'd searched everywhere until I spotted the last one behind the large semi-circle of stones. The transformation into a different character is great fun!

So, after progressing at a leisurely pace, I'm now ready to tackle Treasure Trove Cove. It's been terrific to re-experience a classic qame that I've not played for years... it is fairly old now but the creativity and craft still shines through :-).

EDIT: I've said "I'd forgotten..." quite a lot, there. It has been good to be reminded of these things!

So, is it possible to 'complete' each level before moving on to the next, or are there some collectables that require moves that you acquire later?

I started to collect everything on the first proper level, then realised I might be wasting my time, given that you lose everything if you exit a level on the version I'm playing.

There are some jiggies later int the game that require some backtracking (if my memory is not playing tricks) but this shouldn't include notes.

As I recall, there is one in Freezeezy Peak that requires a move from Gobi's Desert.

If I'm correct it should be the sprinting trainers.

I will play if we have weekly checkpoints. If there's no structure it'll probably fall apart in my opinion.

Not necessarily. It will be just like the game has been released, if there are no checkpoints, as we don't organise schedules for new titles but people still manage to discuss them in threads.

I'm sort of in agreement. The point is GR-Plays if we are all playing at different speeds we aren't playing it as a community.

Mm, a structure would be better. Starting this weekend, maybe something like:

Week beginning 16th-17th May
Spiral Mountain
Mumbo's Mountain

Week beginning 23rd-24th May
Treasure Trove Cove
Clanker's Cavern

Week beginning 30th-31st May
Bubblegloop Swamp
Freezeezy Peak

Week beginning 6th-7th June
Gobi's Valley
Mad Monster Mansion

Week beginning 13th-14th June
Rusty Bucket Bay
Click Clock Wood

Week beginning 20th-21st June
Gruntilda /Endgame

Not sure how realistic a pace that is, whether too much to do in one week or not, but otherwise it'll be dragging on for weeks on end.

stupid question, how do I save progress ?

I just did "exit" when I was out of Mumbo Mountain and it went Game Over on me...

It always does that. Don't worry, it's saved.
