I think it may be hidden in Winter, as this is the last place I tackled.

I'm pretty sure you've missed one - don't think there's a solo note at any point in that level. Sorry Billbones.

Pretty sure all the notes group together in a way. So you've most likely missed one of a group. It could be one single note on a group of platforms for example. Hmmmm..... have you checked on the leaves that change with each season? I think they are near the entrance. And you've managed to get all of the ones above the snapping plants? Missing one note on CCW is one of my worst Banjo nightmares. :dread:

I've now 100% every level in Tooie. I have but to do the climax. I cant remember a thing about it.

Found it! I had missed one in one of those Venus- fly traps in Autumn. Just on to Gruntilda now....

Watching Artist would you recommend I go straight into Tooie? All I remember about it is big overwhelming worlds and lots of mini-games.

Yes, but you'll have to be prepared to be patient with it and know you wont be able to 100% most levels without backtracking. It's just as charming and funny as BK and even if its forced me to work harder then I'd like I've often found myself laughing at the ideas. I've come to really appreciate the overall world design even though the game suffers from a convoluted character system. So I think its worth a revisit, although its just reinforced my opinions I had before. It is certainly no DK64.

I had forgotten how annoying the quiz was .....

The biggest annoyance for me is when it's not made clear whether you have the skills to get a Jiggie or not. If I know I can't get something I don't mind backtracking, but it's just the time wasted trying to get something that is actually impossible.

How long does it take to complete Tooie?

I'm at 20+ hours but I'm sure I've been pretty slow at some points. Plus I've been trying to get everything. Which you really don't need. If you do play it I'll do my best to try and remember what you can't do if you want pointers.

I decided to start this today even though I've had ages to do it. Played up to gobi's valley in one sitting.

It is done. 8-) BT 100% and Grunty smashed.

The ending features another quiz. But its a much less frustrating one. Focusing solely on trivia from the events of the game rather then bringing up random things about Grunty. Had no issues with it till I got cocky (you get points taken away for a wrong answer) The fight is pretty good. I think I prefer the first one though. That really seemed to ask you to use most of your skills again. This much less. But it also featured FPS controls heavily and they just don't gel with me. I dunno if its the emulation controls or age but its completely unnatural for me. It's not a modern twin stick shooter for sure. I manage to unlock the health recovery cheat in the game and I would never have managed it without it. Rather brilliantly the quiz carries on in the boss fight. Grunty stops to ask you questions and depending on if your correct or not she attacks slow or fast. Like BK this is post credits so in a way its a bonus end. You've already saved the day.

I don't think I could ever claim its better then BK. Certainly not on the whole. It does build on and even improve in some areas. I've found the camera far easier to use. Some of this is due to level design asking much less of you in a platforming sense. I really have grown to love the bigger more complex worlds, it builds on naturally from BK in this regard but because of the character switching the complexity can become really tiresome. If this ever received a Wind Waker like update I'd urge this to be fiddled with. For example you should be able to cancel your transformations whenever you like and Mumbo could warp back to his skull. Both these would just streamline the whole experience so much more. Adding in the Cheato Pages is really good. Adding a nice incentive to explore the world as you can get a reward. The inclusion of proper boss fights is a plus for me. With all of them being good apart from........... that one. :dread: I do think there are a few too many mini games, but I've found them to be brief enough that they were fun distractions. A bit more variety would have helped to.

A special mention to the visuals. Whilst nothing special now some of the lighting was really quite impressive and used in interesting ways. I guess I'd forgotten what the N64 was capable of, when running at 5fps. :shifty: The music was fantastic (expected) but the level of attention taken to link all the worlds together really caught my eye. I'm really glad I've played it again, for me BK is one of the best games ever. But BT is just a very good game. One that will make you have to take a few extra steps it shouldn't do.

I went back to this after a short ( :shifty: ) break and managed to get a couple of Jiggies and learn the egg shooting move. I lucked out getting those because I was trying to attack Conga's tree and ended up climbing it. I didn't think that Banjo could climb it while Conga was up there

I found five more Jiggies in Clanker's Cavern as well as Bottles' move so I'm happy with my progress there and I'll move to a new world when I next play. Swimming around did get a bit tedious at times but I did enjoy the obstacle course inside Clanker's belly.

Finished Rusty Bucket Bay (worst level in the game by a large margin) and only need to 100% click clock wood to 100% the game.

I feel that I did quite well in Bubblegloop Swamp as I found 7 Jiggies and 91 Notes. I rescued four Jingos and I know where the last one is but I ran out of gold feathers to save him. A few notes are there as well but I feel that I'll need to look around some more to get all 100.

I decided to leave it there and explore Gruntilda's Lair further which led me to open the door to Freezeezy Peak. I tried finding it but ended up taking a shortcut back down to the statue of Grunty just before Bubblegloop swamp. I'll have another go at finding the entrance itself the next time I play.

I've bravely decided to mostly ignore Rusty Bucket Bay and instead move on to Click Clock Wood.

Wimp. Outside of the turbine room and the propeller jiggy there is nothing that difficult. Apart from reaching the Grunty Switch. Anything your specifically struggling with?

If you can't handle Banjo-Kazooie at its worst, you don't deserve it at its best.

Finished it 100% today, the quiz is a bit cheap on reflection, although the fight with Grunty is suitably epic! The fireballs at the end were a bit frustrating until I found the right rhythm. It's a wonderful game, yes the camera is a pain in places but the music, the characters and the endless sense of fun makes it all worthwhile. The 360 remake is brilliant and I'd very much like to see them do some of their other N64 classics in the future.

Just on to Tooie now, I'm a bit apprehensive as I don't have as nostalgic memories of this one ...

Started Tooie today, the worlds are absolutely massive! The problem is that they just seem so empty in comparison with Banjo Kazooie. The first world took me over an hour to get 100% in comparison the first world in B&K took 15 minutes!!!
