This has the most obtuse cross level jiggy in the game. I could see it in the level and couldn't work out how to get it.

remember the stompy dinosaur?

It just isn't obvious that the two levels link there.

Nope, already done that one! I'm really worried that the game has glitched.

I think so. There is some stuff above the kick ball area. Checked there? Also done the oil drill thing?

Yep done both of those; I'm going to do the kickball one again, but after that I really am all out of ideas...

I went and won the kickball tournament again and got the jiggy!!!! I cannot explain how relieved I am, off to Cloud Cuckoola Land next. Does it play as good as it looks?

I personally didn't like it as it relies on splitting up a lot, although if you plan ahead it might be less hassle to do so. That being said, it's not that bad as Grunty's Indusraties. Hate that level.

Yeah I really didn't enjoy Grunty Industries. I have such mixed feelings on Tooie. I really do love some of it and I really admire some of the level design, but overall it's a really poor follow up to Kazooie which is a fantastic game. I think Rare just tried to do too much and really should have scaled back some of their ideas.

Any excuse to post this again!

Lots of little tweaks could make the game much more enjoyable. Like being able to undo a transformation when you wanted and Mumbo being able to warp back to his hut. GI suffers a lot from this as you often have to go back and forth to figure out the puzzles. If that was less of a pain then the genius level design (and I think GI is genius in its way) would be much more apparent. Most of the character splitting is ok because the pads acts as signposts. You know you need to do something quite close. The game just makes you work much harder (wait longer) for the pay offs. After a while I excepted it but it is a drag.

I think that's the biggest weakness in the game - the playoffs just take so long and for a game that requires the player to want to collect everything it becomes really frustrating. I WANT to get everything and yet the game just makes it so difficult to actually get everything. I think it's bizarre that Microsoft hasn't done more with the Banjo license though, there's surely a market for it ...

Grunty Industries I feel is a level that massively improves on a replay. I despised it when I played through BT for the first time on release and remember clocking just over 6 hours to 100% that one level. Now I'm older I'm able to appreciate it a lot more and it's probably my second favourite level in BT (after Hailfire Peaks, obv, and it doesn't take me 6 hours anymore!).

I think the game would be improved massively if they gave you a map like in Zelda. Some of the levels are just so large and complex that it can be very difficult to remember where everything is!

It took me about three hours for Gruntys, can't remember what it took me first time round though (and I never managed to beat it on N64, wasn't until this year that I finally managed to do it on Xbox One)

A map could prove helpful, although if I were to be given a choice I would probably play without one. I think the fact that the levels are as complex as they are is part of its charm for me and mastering them is hugely satisfying as a result. I also love the fact that many of the levels interact with others.

I was just thinking back to when I used to speedrun BK for fun… I wouldn't have any idea where to start with Tooie. The fact that there are so many of the jiggies throughout the game that require a specific action in other levels makes optimal route planning a pretty nightmarish thought.

Banjo Kazooie just feels much better for speedrun, I enjoy it even if it's nowhere near as good - the levels just felt right for that sort of thing. Whereabouts Banjo Tooie it's like having to plan what to go in steps to get everything quickly (or even Any%, as you need about 70 out of 90 jiggies to be able to face the last boss and I think about 600~ notes to get every move) and that's pretty difficult given how large the levels are as well needing to transform, split up or doing something in previous or next world(s) to be able to get one jiggy out of it  (Dinosaur family comes to mind)

Git gud

Seriously. It took me a fair few attempts and was really demanding. I was swapping fingers and all sorts to try and win. Eventually I did. Then later on I read- The trick is to stay on her tail, as she only speeds up dramatically when you are in too close to her. So wait it out, plod along then just blitz the button and pass her on the last stretch, good luck! Oh how I wish I'd known that.

The thing is I can't even get close to her at the moment, she just powers off into the distance!!

What worked for me when I was a lad was to place the controller on a flat surface, i.e. the floor. Hold the controller with one hand and then to position the index finger of my other hand above the button I needed to mash.
