Hmm I disagree, better to just use forum names.

I think using proper names is generally always better for podcasts. Even if suzzopher ruined it last time. :x

EDIT - If there's a space I should be available for 15th.

I think you're getting people on that like the sounds of their own voice just a little TOO much. I'd like to see a wider spread of forumites, if you include the E3 post-mortems too. The loudest are rarely the most entertaining.

Absolutely, which is why it's open to anyone who wants to join in. Each week I want to have a different line-up, rather than the same voices and opinions every time. It's one of my bugbears at the moment, which is that all the content we produce at the moment is generally either myself, Pedz or Dragon. It's one of the reasons I was quite happy with the line-up for E3. We got members like Karl, Venom, Trelliz, Kinopio and Qikz, who don't really appear in too much stuff, if at all.

Like I said, anyone who wants to join in and can get on mumble can just post their interest in the thread and they'll be in the running for a spot. From episode 3 all three guest slots are available.

I've also added a Poll regarding the real/forum name question. Let democracy take place!

I think we all would like to see more people take part, but not many people seem to be willing, look at the lack of interest from people when it came to the E3 post-postmortems, I only joined 2 extra of those myself, because it was Devlin and 1 other person.

Pedz lets not kid ourselves here - when it comes to stuff like this, you want to be heard as loudly and frequently as possible.

Well no, I'd gladly step aside for people who've not taken part. I'd also give up retro Monday and PC Friday too, I can then instead of trying to get the forum twitch stuff streaming more often can do my own gooseberry fool. I have no problem with that.

Is there some history here? I think anyone with enthusiasm for producing content should be encouraged to do so under the GRcade banner. Whether that's a stream every night or just a recording once a month, let's get as many people as possible involved. Streams are the only thing that have successfully brought in a new member since the SONM merge, so we should keep it up. :toot:

Pedz should reach an arrangement with any other people who wish to stream in the same time slot as him, but until that happens he should feel free to fill as much space in our schedule as he can. :)

It would perhaps seem a bit harsh to suggest some people are "too involved" in stuff. I believe that Devlin has been very clear that, where numbers permit, anyone is welcome to join in.

No there's no history, I just want to hear more than the same 5/6 people. I myself have done podcasts before (some with Pedz, no less), but I don't listen to them myself so I feel at a disadvantage.
I must be the only person nowadays that doesn't :fp:

I'm sorry that you are fed up of the same 5/6 people, but when no one is interested in taking part, what the strawberry float can we do?

I'm not taking part in the next now anyway, buffalo gets to do it, as he's so keen on a different voice.

Grow up, dude  If you're enthusiastic enough, then go for it, no skin off my beak.

Buff, I wonder if your view has come across as being unintentionally critical? The guys have put a lot of time and effort into the podcast and it seems pretty clear that anyone is welcome to take part whenever numbers permit.

I get that, I totally do. I understand what it means to invest time and effort into this place, trust me. All I was saying was, it would be nice to hear more people, and not the same few.

Try and get more people to do it then, there's this thread where Devlin has said people can take part, not many people have said they want to take, how is that our fault? As I said, you get my place to get a different voice on. Bothers me none.

The reason why there's only one spot free for episode 2 was that everyone who took part in the E3 videos were united in their desire to bring back the podcast. Those people got first refusal on the spots in the first couple of episodes because of that. I wouldn't have been doing it at all if they hadn't pushed for it.

I am extremely aware of how limited the visible personalities on the Youtube and Twitch channels are. I hate that it's mostly the same people posting to Youtube and Twitch as I do feel that it looks a little "cliquey". I've always made it clear though that these channels belong to everyone. Twitch especially is very bare right now since I've moved mostly towards Youtube content so there are plenty of slots available. I will look at the Twitch set up over the weekend and see where exactly is free.

In terms of the podcast I really do want to get lots of different participants. People who normally wouldn't get to take part in this kind of thing. There will be a different line-up every fortnight to try and prevent exactly this kind of "personality fatigue". While I will of course get some people on more than once, I don't want there to be a Podcast "Line-Up". It's me and whoever else wants to take part.

^^^ The final word!

Locked for a couple hours to let the thread cool off. Neither side meant the other any offence, so once this is open again let's just move on. :)

I think that forum names would work better because it would help keep things consistent between the podcast, the forum and online gaming IDs like Steam names. This means that it would be easier for people to learn who is who, especially as they'd be referred to by their online names in pretty much every other way we interact.
