I know Cheeky Devlin put some work into this, so it's appreciated the effort he and the other talkers put in.

...obvious reasons, Phote?
Apparently "I don't know why anyone would buy an Xbox One" was allowed to stand, not debated or having someone be devils advocate, just agreed with. As I said hopefully some new forumites will freshen up the clique.
Photek, I do understand what you mean - but I would say that part of the issue is the technology. If a podcast is recorded with four people sitting around a table they can all see each other and take visual or audio cues as when is a good time to cut in giving a very natural conversational style. As it was it is four almost strangers, using Mumble touch-to-talk, it's sort of a wait-until-your-turn-to-speak. Sometimes you would like to interject but on the other hand you don't want to talk over someone who is speaking.
Talkers will all have different, sometimes controversial opinions and I would say that they don't all need to be deconstructed else the danger of a slanging match happening. But when a big topic is being discussed, such as Microsoft's future plans for the Xbox, it would definitely be good to have someone representing the Xbox community - and I think you definitely should put your name in the hat.

My big worry before the show was that it would become a soapbox for people to preach - and I come to GRcade to escape the world. As it happened the tone of this section was overly-aggressive. I live and work in London and people come in all shapes and sizes and you get along by being respectful of other people even if they have different opinions. If you get angrier and talk louder it doesn't make your opinion more right. This discussion for me as a participant and as a listener, absolutely didn't work.
As for my own performance, I'd be happy to hear any constructive feedback which I will use to get better - should I ever be on another podcast! But it's nice to have a podcast again and I think this thread is very useful and will benefit episode 2.
Peace!
