I shall remember this day... the day that Nick confirmed that "the Wii U has too many gaems" :datass: ;) .

Not enough of the kind of 3D platformers I enjoyed on N64/Gamecube.

Don't be too hard on Nick. He lacks imagination. Everything must be 3D/4k for him otherwise he can't enjoy it. His brain works on a different plane to ours, if something is in 2D, he can't enjoy it as his brain tells him it's not real. Because Nick knows that Gorillas can't be fired out of barrels, unless he can see the sweat on Donkey Kong's bollocks his brain refuses to accept it and he just sees a flashing FALSE REALITY warning sign.

I like it, it did terribly but I don't care. It's also a great Netflix machine as it's so quiet and low power, and the quick start feature which is not available on really anything else ever made overcomes the sluggishness of the OS and makes it easy to choose the thing you want to do with the system. That had potential.

I'd feel better about the feel of the system if mine was black and had a bit more weight to it, which is why I should pick up the pro controller that is generally regarded as one of the best controllers alongside 360 (and is Bluetooth with mega battery life).

The screen is passable for its purpose and I've enjoyed its flexibility for playing in bed, touchscreen centric games like kirby etc.

It's also the first hole console I've played online substantially - hundreds of hours. Splatoon is genius, best new IP and gametype in years, and MK8 is just perfect. Virtually all games on the system run very smoothly too.

NX will smash it.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

I've played one a few times at a mate's house, but didn't really like it. Certainly didn't feel any desire to get one, or that I was missing out by not having it. The controller is pretty poor IMO; uncomfortable and unwieldy, and the whole idea of the gamepad just seemed unnecessary. The name is genuinely terrible. Splatoon seemed okay, but I wouldn't have bought it, and Mario Kart is...well, Mario Kart. I was bored of it long before MK8, and so that didn't appeal either. The other games I've played were, again, okay, but nothing really stood as a must-have.

Switch is interesting, but if there are lots of ports of Wii U games, that's not a good thing, at least for me and my tastes.

I wonder how comfortable Switch, in handheld mode, will be compared to this.
