Do they have exit polls for referendums? Did the AV referendum have one?
No, because exit polls require historic data from previous general elections apparently, and there obviously hasn't been an EU referendum held within the last decade. That coupled with it being a country wide vote where constituencies don't matter means we won't see a big "wow the pollsters keep strawberry floating this thing up" moment on TV when they do the whole Big Ben striking ten thing.
EDIT - Saying that however, YouGov will apparently release a final 'on-the-day' poll after 10pm tomorrow. They did it with the Scottish referendum and ended up pretty much on the money, so take from that what you will.
