Thanks, I’ll give it a look. I’m after a big box Lylat Wars but everything I’ve seen so far has been in very questionable condition.

I was just looking back at some of the Xbox 360 Kinect launch titles. It amazes me it did as well as it did tbh, because what a pitiful selection of mostly shite launch games for your £130.

Xbox World 360 magazine wrote:Dance Central: 81% This lacks the crowd-pleasing punch of Kinect Sports but it’s Kinect’s best launch title.
Kinect Sports: 80% Forget Kinect freebie Adventures, Sports is the real Kinect showpiece. Get it.
Kinect Adventures: 52% A whole lot of average, this lacks the ‘gamey’ events of Sports and suffers because of it.
Kinect Joy Ride: 47% An unsatisfying first foray into Kinect racing. Some fun to be had, but not for long.
Kinectimals: 76% Terrific entertainment for kids the right age, but too much tedious chat for younger ones.
Sonic Free-Riders: 35% The wrong control system for what could well have been a good game.
Dance Revolution: 41% Passable attempt that pales next to Dance Central.
Sports Island Freedom: 10% At one percent per game we’re being generous.
Truth or Lies: 13% A lie detector that doesn’t detect lies. Pointless.
Fighters Uncaged: 18% Audley Harrison puts up a better fight than this.
Monopoly Streets: 42% It’s Family Game Night with just one (dull) game.
Motion Sports: 28% Less Motorsports, more Bowel Motionsports.
Family Game Night: 58% This isn’t great gaming, but nothing to slap granny about when you get it for Christmas; especially if you’re an Achievement whore.
NBA Jam: 59% Should’ve followed 3-3 NHL Arcade’s XBLA lead.
Marvel Superhero Squad: 20% Barrel-smashing (and barrel-scraping) kids game.
Crossboard 7: 59% Tacky and charmless design, but it leaves Sonic Riders far behind in its snowy wake.

I didn't buy one. I missed nothing.

Miyoo Mini Plus onion OS has had an update which adds Nintendo DS support :toot:

Played a bit of Mario 64 and Tetris DS to try it out, and while it's not perfect it's pretty damn good. Will be great to play things like NSMB.

Lovely little machine

Got my RS6S updated over the weekend. New SD card. Boots up crazy fast now.

Stuck Pokemon Radical Red on it. Also put Land of Illusion from the SMS on it as it was missing that. Great wee game, it's been nice revisiting it.

Would PS3 be considered retro by this point :slol: Finally got myself new PS3 to replace one I no longer had as I gave that away to my friend as I was going to get new one anyway, and I just did - the silm one (not new one), deffo my favourite model. Right now I'm just sorta looking for list of games that aren't available on PS4/PS5 or other consoles without forking over for expensive PS+ tier (and it's streaming so uhh no thank you), so far I have:

Infamous 2/Festival Blood
Tokyo Jungle
Everybody's Golf World Tour ( )
Ratchet & Clank 1-3
Ratchet & Clank Future era (Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, A Crank in Time)
Ratchet & Clank odd games (Nexus, All 4 One, Q-Force)
Yakuza Dead Souls (I really doubt they'll remaster this which is shame)
Tales of Graces f
Tales of Xillia 1/2
Metal Gear Solid 4 (for now, hopefully that gets remastered)

On way from ebay:

God of War: Ascension
Motorstorm OG/Pacific Rift (I wanted to play PR again and saw them bundled for little price)
Resistance 1&2
Heavenly Sword

I'll get Resistance 3 to finish the trilogy but yeah if anyone knows of games I should look into then hit me up! Only condition is that it has to be game I can't play on PS4, PS5, any other platform (Switch/PC/Xbox One) as i'd rather to play the game on these since as much as I love my PS3, it is bloody slow console...

I'd consider it border-line at this point. One good thing is that the games are still pretty cheap these days so you can build up a collection quite quickly.
I've got about 30/40 PS3 discs at this point. Great system.

EDIT: You can't go wrong with the Motorstorm games, Soul Calibur IV, Killzone 2/3. Plus all the series you mentioned. God of War has a few good entries too especially if you can get the HD Collections with the PS2 and then PSP games.

I checked price of HD Collections and they seem go for so much :dread: Well okay, not *much* but like £30+. Soul Calibur IV I can get on Xbox (but true SC always good shout)

Also yeah I wanna play Pacific Rift again. I sucked at it but it was really fun; shame no online anymore but heyho.

I got this today, this misses purchased it for me for £10... Now one of the main reasons I wanted to post it here was to ask other retro gamers a question... Look at the manual it has holes punched in it... I have seen this done in a fair number or Japanese Megadrive games now and just wondered what is the deal, where there whole bunches of people taking there manuals out of cases and keeping them in lever arched folders or something, was it common or trendy in Japan at some point or what ?

I've just put together list on games you can only get on Playstation 3 as of 2024 - if interested I've put it under spoiler so it doesn't take up much of screen. If I'm missing anything / there's extra info I should look into feel free to hit me up.

PLAYSTATION 3 EXCLUSIVE GAMES IN 2024

General summary:
This list will contain the games you cannot play on either PS4/PS5 and/or other modern systems, thus they are still 'stuck' on PS3. The list will split up in "new" games (i.e. not remastered) vs remastered.

NEW GAMES

3D Dot Game Heroes (not possible to get this digitally)
Everbody's Golf World Tour(Minnano Golf 5 in JP, Hot Shots Golf Out Of Bounds in US)
Everybody's Golf 6 (also available on PSVita)
Fat Princess - Multiplayer game. Sadly, it is delisted but if you already purchased it (or find disc version) then can play it.
God of War: Ascension
Heavenly Sword
Infamous
Infamous 2
Infamous: Blood Festival [Digital Only]
Killzone 2
Killzone 3
Metal Gear Solid 4 (for now, it may be remastered via Vol.2 collection)
Motorstorm
Motorstorm Pacific Rift
Motorstorm Apolocayse
Motorstorm RC [Digital Only] (also available on PSVita)
Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction
Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty
Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time
Ratchet & Clank: Nexus
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force (also available on PSVita)
Resistance
Resistance 2
Resistance 3
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Tales of Graces f
Tales of Xilla
Tales of Xilla 2
Tokyo Jungle [Digital Only]
Yakuza: Dead Souls

REMASTERED

God of War Collection
God of War (PSP) Collection
Killzone HD [Digital Only]
Ratchet & Clank HD Trilogy
Ratchet Gladiator [Digital Only]
Sly Cooper HD Trilogy (also available on PSVita)
Tales of Symphonia HD Duoliogy (For the sequel only - the original is available on PS4&PS5/Switch/PC)

Special notes:

Final Fantasy series
You can almost play every Final Fantasy game on Playstation 4 and later - but PS4/PS5 still lacks Final Fantasy 13 trilogy unless you were to go for expensive tier of Playstation Plus and opt for streaming these games on PS4/5... otherwise you'd either have to decide if you want to get them on PS3 for complete collection on Playstation or play them elsewhere like Xbox(where they updated it so it's at much higher performance) or PC/Steam.

Demon's Souls
If you want original Demon's Souls instead of remake, then you can add that to the list - otherwise with the remake available on Playstation 5 I didn't include it on the list.

Yeah that looks about right. I've got a decent number of them but still a few I'd like to fill out a bit. Ratchet and Clank are always a good time so might look at getting them at some point.

That said what I might focus on looking for is stuff that wasn't exclusive to Ps3/360 but that have never been ported anywhere else. Must be a good chunk of stuff there.

The remastered Medal of Honor Frontline is exclusive to PS3 for some bizarre reason. It’s available on the PS Store (last time I looked it was £8) but is included with the disc copy of Medal of Honor which can be picked up for a couple of quid. Hasn’t aged that well tbh, but as a bonus it’s alright.

God of War Collection and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time were both also released on Vita.

Just looking through my collection, and found Tekken Hybrid, which I think may be quite the rarity. I mainly got it for the remastered Tekken Tag Tournament (with the bowling mini game!), but it also comes bundled with a demo of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and a movie of such appalling quality you'll have to be drunk to sit through it (Tekken Blood Vengeance).

Couldn't have had much of a print run for our region, as my box art is foreign, despite coming from some UK retailer (would have been Play.com or The Hut or something)

I've not seen this before, kerr. It seems pretty odd but, as you say, maybe some people kept their manuals in a folder? Dang, I wouldn't want to punch holes in game manuals!

Hey, Seven, that's a neat idea!

I have disc copies of some of the games:

Metal Gear Solid 4
Motorstorm
Motorstorm Pacific Rift
Motorstorm Apolocayse
Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction
Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time
Ratchet & Clank: Nexus
Resistance 3

MGS4 also has a "MGS 25th anniversary" edition that released after the original version; the same game but with different cover artwork.

My copy of Resistance 3 is the steelbook version in which the CD is designed to look like a vinyl disc; it's pretty neat.

I got Captain America Super Soldier on disc from America as it wasn't released over here for some reason. Nothing amazing but a pretty decent arkham clone.

I didn't know that there had been a remastered version! That's a nice one to have, KK.

I'd not heard of this one. Looks to go for anything from £20 to £40 on eBay.
