We should have monthly tourneys.

Well played Aaron. I know you're pretty strong HU so thought I wouldn't last too long when Mocky went out, but we were both still quite deep so I managed to grind. Delighted at winning the ME!

2 bracelets.

Disappointed with my series overall, not least because I really wanted to win either the Stud or PLO events and got 2nd and 3rd respectively. Also disappointed with the numbers we drew as this is the first year we've taken a backward step in that regard.

Mockmaster wrote:Very happy to make it into the money. My goal was to make the final table so I am well chuffed. Thanks alot for running this enjoyable series and see you again next year.

Well done and no worries, mate. It's (mostly) good fun to run.

:o Aaron blitzed POTY, surprised I came 2nd despite 2 bracelets... I guess I was helped by a couple of no-shows from Slayer.

Thanks a lot to Drummy and DR for running this! Great stuff guys.

Consistency. You scored points in six of the seven events and were usually in the top four which is where most of the points were to be had.

As per usual I did terrible overall, but it was great fun.

Cheers for running it Drum, and DR for the forum, and everyone who took part.

Still, I just feel like I never particularly played well to merit it. Still, not complaining. Want a bracelet next year!

I think I'll take this time to ask for some feedback as to what you guys want to see for next year so that when the time comes around again we can look back and see what was suggested.

This is what I've heard at the tables during the events, on the forum and on occasion over Steam:

-Scrap the 8-Game
-Scrap the NLHE Rebuy
-Scrap the 6-Max and replace it with the full ring event from last year
-Have a 2-7 event
-Make the Stud event Triple Stud (that's Stud Hi, Stud Hi/Lo and Razz)

If you have any other feedback then please post it for discussion, likewise if you agree/disagree with any of the above.

Agree to these bits, indifferent to the rest.

Full Ring in sounds good. I would use this to replace the Rebuy and keep 6-max.

I would scrap Stud entirely. 8-Game is quirky fun but it does get tired quickly...I think good replacements would be 2-7 Triple Draw, and also 5-card draw. (This would also be quite a good one to bring new people in on, as it's probably the most well known variation after Hold'Em.)

I don't agree with scrapping the Stud games entirely as they definitely have a place in the series. Given that we already have a PLO event, and after the calls for a 2-7 event (more on that in a bit), I'm leaning towards thinking that we shouldn't have both 8-Game and a Stud events. So next year the line up could be something like: Heads Up, PLO, Triple Stud, NLHE full ring, 2-7, Main Event. This is the full list of events Stars currently offer (they may add more in the future of course).

With regard to 2-7 events, I think I probably have more experience than anyone here with the 2-7 games, and personally, I much prefer the no-limit single draw variant which is not included in the 8-Game. It's exactly as it sounds, you get one draw and it's no-limit. I think at some point next year (or perhaps this week if folk are up for it) we should organise a game to see what everyone thinks. I'm quite confident that after playing it for a bit you guys will much prefer it to fixed limit triple draw.

I really like 8-game, and think it fits in well.

I like the idea of replacing stud with triple stud, that was the weakest tournament this year.

Finished 17th in the end. Struggled to get anywhere and was constantly all in for my tournament life.

Final hand I had 11bb in the BTN with 88 and I shove. SB calls with 99 and BB has ATo and wins.
