PostThe ParaPod: separate new podcasts - Loopholes (Ian), The Worriers (Barry), p27

(Originally started as part of the Conspiracies thread, I've spun this off into its own thread, as the podcast mostly deals with paranormal stuff too.)

If you like conspiracies, you HAVE to check out The ParaPod. They've done three series (Ghosts, Mysteries, and most recently Conspiracies).

Each episode, lovably daft Barry Dodds presents tales that he truly believes in, and Ian Boldsworth (formerly known as Ray Peacock) thoroughly debunks them. The stuff Barry believes is amazing, and Ian crucifies him for it. It's the funniest thing I've heard in years.

I listened to the first conspiracy one (moon landings) and laughed harder than I have for a while. I’m going to start properly now from series 1.

Cheers for the recommendation!

I too can now +1 this.

It's very good, thanks for the recommendation. I started at the very beginning, too, and it's a great listen. Ideal as the evenings get dark as I can't let the dog off the lead so we need to walk much further

I really can't believe that poor guy's name is Ray Peacock, though :slol:

Stage name, and he's no longer using it in the current present-day.

I do find he interrupts a little too willingly, which I find a touch grating, but it's not detracting too much. I also realise that's kinda the whole point of the podcast.

(But he does that angry BBC presenter 'quirk' of asking a question then immediately interrupting the answer. These are the very early podcasts mind, so he may have smoothed out his style a bit later on.)

Either way, it's very, very entertaining stuff so far.

I've also started listening from the very beginning, but I sadly note that the latest episode is from March this year - have they stopped doing it or is this just a hiatus?

Are you on Android? I use Podcast Addict (totally free and non-spammy) and it works fine on that.

The website is here: http://www.theparapod.com

No idea if they support non-Apple devices.

They're not planning any more series, BUT they are working on a film, which promises to be amazing.

I'm not used to things I recommend being so well received. I might ask for this to be spun off into its own thread so more people get to see it.
