There is no open here tab.

I was about to wack it with a hammer, but the wife saw me and then proceeded to use her nails to pry the two pieces of plastic apart so the knife is now free :toot:

Good job team.

And before anyone asks, yes I did try doing the same thing as her, but I couldn't get it to open. Obviously I must have loosened it up for her. :shifty:

Have you tried asking an adult to open it for you?

How would an external hard drive help Rightey to open a knife in a drive-thru?

Take it back as faulty. Say it wouldn't cut anything.

Yup it's one of those where the back is popped forcibly into the front part so you have to prise it out at the seams.

Knife update: knife is working great, I cut a piece of chicken with it during dinner and it worked brilliantly. Very happy with the purchase, and would highly recommend.

Would you recommend those of us who have not yet been able to justify investing in a knife do so? Does it really make life that much easier? Previously I have pried apart meat with my fingernails and pulped tomatoes with my fists, and I think it works quite well.

I'm looking forward to the day you buy a spoon.

Oh yes, I'd say at $2 CAD (£1.20 although your taxes may differ) it was a good investment. People buy the knife for cutting food, but then they forget about the other uses.

- Home and Self Defence
- For use in interrogation
- Party games, such as knife throwing or that one where you put your hand on the table and try to go around your fingers.
- And many more!

Furthermore, the knife blade is not serrated, so it can be re-sharpened with the optional add on, or a stone if you are feeling thrifty.

I currently own two spoons and two forks, one for myself and one for the wife, but should look into getting some more in case we have guests over. I was on the verge of buying a set of cutlery a few days ago but I don't have one of those containers you put in the drawer to help keep everything organized.

I got the chicken from a farmers market, it came in a clear plastic bag.

Have you stabbed anyone with it yet? I'm always concerned when purchasing a new stabbing knife that the blade will snap when going through the ribcage. The end result is always the same of course (dead hooker) but it can hurt my hand, a bit like when you bang your funny bone.

Was the plastic bag easy to open with your new knife?

It was probably wrapped in brown paper, tied with brown string and had the words 'corn fed 100% organic' stamped on it.

The plastic bag was not easy to open as I untied it with my hands. I bought 3 chicken breasts the day before I bought the knife, but I didn't want to use them all at once so I separated them into individual ziploc bags.

Nope, this just a plain plastic bag, didn't even have handles! You would get that at a boutique butchershop.

Not yet, I'll have to get back to you on this one.

This thread has made me think about what it would feel like to be stabbed in the ribs by a chef's knife. Now I am sad. :(

You are sad that you had to imagine what it felt like, rather than having it happen to you and you feel you missed out on a valuable experience?

Rightey, help Gecko out and get some valuable knife practise at the same time.
