I'm willing to embrace thie unknown.

This isn't unknown. I know it to be boring.

I'm going to admit, I only made the last post to have an avatar-off.

Anyone got any ideas of things to do on the day? Might be interesting if we do similar things.

I'm sorry Aaron,

A few ideas to get you started:

    - Go for a long walk, exploring nooks and crannies you have not yet explored, in your local area. Perhaps you can hand draw a map as a navigation guide, as they used to do in olden times.
    - Do some reading. I have plenty of half and un-read books on the shelf.
    - Go for a run.
    - Start a diary.
    - Find a hill somewhere and sit at the top of it, whereupon you can engage in a period of self introspection. Really look at who you are and where you are going. I may also do some painting up there on that hill. I recently purchased a beginner's watercolour set for £5.99. If I do I will scan the image the following day for all to see the splendour of.
    - Celebrate your non-reliance on technology by eating fresh fruit.

Be sure to withdraw any money you may need the day before. Using a cash machine or paying by card is prohibited. But paying for things with actual currency is fine.

And above all - turn your phone off.

I would quite like to get involved in this, actually! I always feel like I've wasted my day if I spend too much time on electronic things so this could be good for me! :)

Even though I think it's a bad idea (it basically says we're too reliant on technology when in fact that's no bad thing), I might have to give this a try. However it'd have to be after I move house, so over a week away. So who knows, eh?

Welcome aboard. This task may seem like a rejection of technology, but its more an appreciation of the things technology doesn't necessarily provide.

I've decided to do this Thursday. Because on that day there is a midnight screening of District 9. That shall be my reward for passing this task. In twenty six hours and forty seven minutes I go offline, and shall remain in such a state for 24 hours.

Consoles and internet are relatively easy - I make sure of that when I go on holiday, but my mobile is something I can't live without.

Is that included in the challenge?

Aha! You are perfect for the challenge. Yes, phones are supposed to be turned off for this task. 24 hours without your mobile. Challenge yourself. You could cut corners and do it with your phone on, but it would defeat the object.

Is anyone else going to take photos to show what they've done?
