1. Arboretum Council

Who can say what or why this tree appears to have paint splattered at the bottom of it? It's a mystery, one that may never be solved.

Image

Some trees are just happy with their lot, happy to bask in the sun and live a long life. Others say no, this is not the life for me, I want more. This tree wanted more.

Image

A tree, a postbox. A simpler way of life encapsulated in a single photo. Red box, green tree. Yes.

2. Strictly Confidential

1. Reach Back

Spoke to a school friend who know lives less than 10 minutes away from me. Small world and all that.

Just bought Hardcore Homecoming from Sykes last night, for that task. Mocky, is it ok if I post my pictures of trees up tomorrow? I can't find the wire to connect my iPhone to the laptop. :x :fp:

The tasks I've done, in one post to:

Easy
1. iPlay, iSaw, iConquered

Watched an episode of University challenge and then 1929: The Great Crash, which had this great facepalm moment:

2. The Winner Takes It All

Entered this competition: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/475106/o ... -blu-ray-/

Medium

1. Arboretum Council

My Zaffle tree. Painted that on a couple of years ago and it's still there. The tree itself is on my cousin's 'farm'. When I was younger, we used that tree to look over into his neighbours' land. If it was clear (i.e. they were out) we'd climb down and explore their barns and climb their towers of hay bales.

Image

Broked Tree. The remains of truly the greatest tree ever, also down at my cousin's. :( Back in the day this towered over the area. It was huge and great fun to climb. It also had a great rope swing. Sadly one stormy day it was hit by lightning and broked. Sad times. It's also sort of a monument to my dead dog. She's buried close by to it.

Image

Squirrel Tree: Located just infront of the block of flats I used to live in. Was great to sit and watch the squirrels scurrying around in the tree. Seriously, there were always squirrels in it. Like their headquarters or something.

Hard

1. Reach Back
Been talking (through text messages) to a guy I went to college with. Hadn't spoken to him since, well college. Which I finished last year. Will be going out for drinks and a proper catch up with him too once Uni starts again

I'll have to leave the other 2 tasks.

Looking forward to the next set of tasks, Mockytaskmasterguy.

That is fine. Post them tomorrow but I'll assume it's a pass. In future I may make the deadline for each set of tasks every Sunday evening. That way I have time to put the league table together for the next day.

Tocky I've made a trade agreement in the post but the trade won't be carried out until a later date. Task get or task fail?

Anyone who hasn't posted a summary of their tasks, it would be a great help if you would do so. I've done a sweep of the thread and have created a preliminary table. I think a few more people will post their task results later though.

Right, here we go....

Banjo: Week 1

Easy

1. iPlay, iSaw, iConquered- Les Paul: Chasing Sound (terrific documentary, nice and long at 90 minutes too) and Shooting Stars ('mazing).

2. The Winner Takes It All- As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the pizza-eating competition I took part in on Tuesday.

Medium

1. Arboretum Council-
Image
Not even a part of a next door's garden, this beast grows in the small patch of land separating every house in my street and the train tracks behind. Quite impressive, for what is essentially not cared for and is in a far from prime location.

Image
Some suprisingly mighty looking specimens. Again, far from prime location, with little to spread their roots in, yet they still appear to be a healthy group of trees with a long life ahead of them.

Image
The same concept as the prior group. However, these trees look malnourished, and are struggling to cope in a habitat that isn't best suited for them. As such, they look haggard and out of place. A shame, they deserve better.

2. Strictly Confidential- http://www.grcade.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11939&start=80. Product has been paid for and received. You may confirm this with White Rabbit.

Hard

1. Reach Back- On that same day as the pizza-eating competition (at the same venue nontheless), my friend David was there, who I hadn' seen since May. Damn, not quite. However, I then had a nice conversation about Classical Musicals with my friend Emyr, who I haven't spoken with since Christmas.

2. The Entertainer-
Image
I may have gotten a tad carried away with this one, once I started I couldn't control myself. There are about ten more littered around a friends bedroom. Great fun, this task.

I believe that makes for a complete week.

When did this transaction commence?

As we speak.

Task Pass.

JK wrote:Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I present to you... trees.

Tree 1

This tree, found in Weston Park in Sheffield, is directly outside the lab I'll be working in for the next three and a bit years. I'll be seeing a lot of this old girl.

Tree 2
Image
Image

The first photo is the rather inspiriting view out of my bedroom window. The second picture is a close-up of the only greenery in view. This tree improves the view no end.

Tree 3
Image

A picture of the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin, Washington DC. When I went over to the States to see my girlfriend (who was living there at the time) we decided on a whim to go to Washington DC. Turns out we were there right in the middle of the annual blossoming of the cherry blossoms. This tree represents our reunion.

And in case the cynics among you were thinking I'd just lifted it off Google...

Image

That's me looking incredibly cool and casual.

In other news, I bought a bag of modelling balloons but I can't even blow them up.

Working on the other tasks still.

I too have entered that competition.

Does that count?

Task GET!

JK wrote:O Taskmaster, I present to you... BALLOON ANIMAL MODELLING!

His name is Doggy. The dog. He's an excitable characters, which I why I had to hold him down to take this photo.

He reckons Derren Brown predicted the lotto numbers by painstakingly cataloguing every draw for the last ten years, as well as the time it takes for the first ball to drop out, atmospheric pressure inside the machine, and the colour of the presenter's shirt and then using that data to write an incredibly complicated algorithm that can predict exactly what balls are going to come out of the machine on any given day with any given environmental variables.

Image

I'm sceptical.
