Had a bath for a change so I could dust off the meditation task. Underwater listening to the sound of well, nothing really, was quite nice. 3/3

Kevin Bacon was in Hollow Man with Elisabeth Shue.
Elisabeth Shue was in Back to the Future 3 with Mary Steenburgen.
Mary Steenburgen was in Philadelphia with Joey Perillo.
Joey Perillo was in The Negotiator with Anthony Ruivivar.
Anthony Ruivivar was in Starship Troopers with Michael Ironside, and Michael Ironside was in Total Recall.

I'd seen Starship Troopers before, all the others were new to me. I may make a bumper post in the last film thread. Task GET with all six points Mocky?

Creative Writing Task. :lol: :fp:

In an office high amongst the clouds, a man leant forward and began to tap his fingers on the desk in front of him. He furrowed his brow in deep thought before reaching slowly for the keyboard in front of him.

"Excuse me Sir," buzzed the intercom suddenly. "Your 2'o clock has cancelled, shall I reschedule for next week?"

"Yes, that will be fine Susan" the man answered, pausing for thought again. That freed up several hours now but what to do with them? He shot upright into his seat, struck by a brilliant thought. But would it work?

Dusting his doubts away he began to tap his fingers on the desk again. Yes it would almost certainly work, the subliminal messaging would see to that. He had an unholy group ready to do his bidding, no matter how far-fetched or strange his ideas. Such was the wonder of the internet, in all it's glory.

His fingers burst into life, rapidly typing his manifesto for all to see. No need for checking the grammar, he felt certain it would be correct as usual. Just this once though, he felt the urge to run his gaze over the words.

"Hello,

BORED OF YOUR LIFE?

WANT TO MAKE A CHANGE?

You've come to the right place my friend. For in this thread you will find like minded people. People who aren't happy to just let life pass them by. People who are determined to get the most out of that which we take for granted.

These people live for the GRcade Tasks of the Week!"

Letting a small smile creep across his face, he softly spoke four words so quietly only he would hear them.

"This could be fun."

Watched several films recently so my 6 Degrees can be like this:

Vince Vaughn was in Swingers with Heather Graham
Heather Graham was in Bowfinger with John Cho
John Cho was in Nick and Norah's infinite Playlist with Kat Dennings
Kat Dennings was in The House Bunny.

(Blue is the film I've seen before).

Work in progress still. Going to try go for bonus points.


New Look

For this task I took the cheap way out. My brother bought a pack of 10 pairs of socks. I purchased a pair of them from him (for £2). These ones:

Kirk Johnson: An Internet Story

Kirk was, and remains, an unassuming man. Tall and slender for a man in his early 40s, Kirk has lived his entire life in rural Maine, USA. His slim and slightly muscular build isn't what you'd expect from the instigator of an "internet culture phenomenon" -- rather, with his simple hair and thick chestnut moustache, he fits in perfectly amongst his farming community contemporaries.

Kirk, though, had a passion which would likely see him ran out of his home ranch were it ever discovered; and it was for that passion that he now reclined naked on his back porch, brisk winter breeze keeping him alert and focused.

The camera was in place and linked to his computer (connected to Usenet via a state-of-the-art 56k modem). His chute had stopped hurting -- he removed the plug, 4 inches in diameter, and retreated back to his study.

Kirk Johnson did not know he was about to make history, but his next actions would shape the information revolution.

Bent down in front of his camera, Kirk took a deep breath. His feelings were not of achievement, nor of the disgust or self-loathing you might expect; he merely felt the satisfaction of indulging in a hobby. His fingers went in easily. Taking a final moment to steel himself, he stretched.

The camera flashed.

The modem screeched.

Kirk Johnson became a legend.

Kirk still follows his hobby, from his ranch in rural Maine. He still, to this day, posts videos to both Usenet and a reasonably popular US-based imageboard. But his magnum opus is done, and though he may be Kirk Johnson by birth, he is now known throughout the developed world by a different name, the name of his greatest achievement.

Kirk is, and always will be, The Goat Man.
