You been to Atlanta? I'm off there in a few weeks but it's only Mon-Thurs and will just have evenings to look around. Never been to the US so I'm pretty curious of how it'll be.

Have you been there before? If not, then do all the tourist stuff (Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Empire State, Times Square etc). If you have been before then what did you enjoy while you were there?

Nope, never been before.

Do the tourist stuff then.

I'm only there for a few days so was just wondering what to prioritise inbetween Christmas shopping.

I went to an Anime convention in Atlanta in 2007 if that helps.

Never been, but I’m planning on going there next year, so it would be good to hear what you think of it.

Dickmann’s 8-)

I bought a pack back last time I was in Germany and one of the guy’s in this show bought a pack in this week, too :slol: Wonder how much of their sales are just from British people who think it’ll be a fun gift because of the name.

Going to book a 7 night trip to Iceland in final week of January.

Any tips on how to approach an itinerary? Should we base ourselves in Reykjavik for the week and do tours from there?

Holy Christ I finally know why so many people are obsessed with Japan. This is the first time I've been on holiday where not a single part of me has wanted to come home at the end of it. Such an awesome time, and finally got to meet my girlfriend's mum and her partner. He's an amazing Ramen chef who owns a restaurant, and they asked me to cook my Gyudon for them. Was pretty much bricking it the whole time as he stood there watching me make it, but he seemed to love it. I was almost in tears with the praise he gave me (translated though my girlfriend).

Also my gf's mum is giving her (and by extension me) her 'spare' house in Osaka. So that's a bonus.

I too would like to know where you went. I'm heading over after Christmas for a couple of weeks in Tokyo and one in Kyoto. Did you go to Osaka? I'm planning to visit from Kyoto and could do with some tips (eating and drinking being priorities).

I was in Osaka and Kyoto. If you're in Osaka eat Okonomiyaki. It's a local speciality and is amazing, kind of like an omelette pancake thing. There's a place called Okonomiyaki Keji very near Osaka station you should go to, though you might have trouble getting a seat if you go around 'normal' dinner time. Well worth it though. If you like whisky there's an awesome bar called Kowloon’s between Osaka station and Tenma (easily walkable from either). The manager knows her gooseberry fool and there's quite a selection, so you'll definitely get something good. Quite expensive though.

I had Okonomiyaki in Hiroshima and it was honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten.

I've had Okonomiyaki in Toronto and loved it, so definitely looking forward to trying the real thing. I also love whiskey so will check that bar out, ta.

Have any of you been to a shooting range in California? I’m going there in 2 weeks and want to try all kinds of guns. ;-) Is it easy to do?

You're going to the USA, just go to the shop next to the newsagents, and then go shoot what you want.
