He did. But he's always had a weird kink where he gets off on being shamed for not knowing pop stars.

For strawberry floats sake never mention BTS when he's around. :dread:

I echo what Qikz said about walking places. Similar to London, a lot of the stops on the metro aren't that far apart and you'll see more by walking. From memory, Akihabara to Ueno is doable.

Ginza (high end area, similar to Fifth Avenue or Oxford Street) is walkable from Shinbashi, Yurakucho and Nihonbashi (these are all places to eat and drink).

Shibuya, Ebisu, Meguro and Harajuku/Yoyogi/Meiji Jingu are all walkable.

Are you sure that this actually happened?

Ginza is actually the area we're staying in, so we had a nice walk around the grounds of the Imperial Palace yesterday along with Chiyoda Park.
We went to Shibuya today and checked out the Nintendo store and other stuff on the same floor (Pokemon Centre, Jump Shop, Capcom store and a few other anime/game related stores).
We're planning to head to Harajuku tomorrow after we have lunch at the Monster Hunter cafe in Akihabara. And buy an extra suitcase to bring back all our shopping :D

That Nintendo Store is great. Funnily when I first went there I only went in the Nintendo store and was confused why there was a sign for the Pokemon Center outside. I thought it must've been an old sign - I didn't and couldn't find the Pokemon Center at all for some stupid reason.

Went back there last time and went in. Probably good I didn't find it the first time or I probably would've spent double what I spent in each seperately.

I've been to three Pokemon centers so far though in Nihonbashi, Ikebukuro and Shibuya and none of them have a Togetic plush in stock :(

I haven't been to Nihonbashi yet - what's there to do there?

Also for when you go to Akiba I 100% recommend you go to Okonomiyaki Yukari - https://www.yukarichan.co.jp/shop/akibaichi.html

Everyone's given you great tips, but yeah The Metropolitan Building in Tokyo is a dual-towered building with a free viewing platform, well worth visiting.

I'd go to Asakusa at night, it's much nicer. Depending on what you like I'd take a trip to Mount Takao, it's a nice hike and there are chairlifts too if you want to skip the first part of the walk. Yanaka cemetery is nice to walk through. A trip over to Odaiba over the rainbow bridge is good, there's no driver so sit at the front of the train. I'd avoid Ueno zoo, I found it really depressing. They may have changed it since I was last there but a lot (most) of the enclosures weren't fit for purpose.

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

I mean, yeah, why wouldn't it have? My principle memory from the night was that they were playing Toxic Avenger on a loop in the bar, and the guy was randomly handing out popcorn. I'm not a big drinker, so was in a pretty horrible state when my mate arrived the next day.

And I found the pub! Here is the dude:

 I always assumed she was asking if I knew him personally, it never really crossed my mind that she was asking whether I knew who he was.

And yeah, pretty sure it was the Metropolitan Building we went up. Would recommend!

Have you been to Yodobashi Akiba in Akihabara yet? If you haven't, i recommend it. They sell pretty much everything you can wish for. There can't be many places where you can buy a baby grand piano, a washing machine, Lego, a sex doll, a suitcase and some golf clubs (which you can then use on the indoor driving range they have). You can then finish it off with some food in one of the many restaurants they have there.

We went to Nihonbashi for the Pokemon Cafe, it's in a big department store that also has an indoor market so my wife bought some handmade miso that apparently they take 3 years to make from there.

We've been to the Skytree this morning for the views and yeah, you just don't get how big Tokyo is until you can see nothing but city in every direction. Also the Skytree had yet another Pokemon Center that was out of stock of Togetic. Sadly still no reservation for the Kirby cafe, and they don't accept standby incase of no shows like the Pokemon cafe does

We're thinking of heading over to Shinjuku this afternoon just do some more exploring.
And we'll probably stop in at the Ghostbusters pop-up cafe when we head back to Ginza.

O cool I didn't know there was a pokemon centre at the Skytree. I did find the studio ghibli store outside the Skytree though by the station. However I did go to the pokemon centre in Tokyo which is in a sky ride and the pokemon cafe without booking. The food looks very nicely presented but taste awful. This put me off any other themed cafes as they just seemsike a gimmick.

The food at the Monster Hunter cafe in Akihabara was actually pretty good when we went there for lunch yesterday.

Oops I mean a skyscrapper of an office block not sky ride.
O cool that sounds good good to hear.
But yeah the Pokemon one was awful. Like the soup tasted like a powder soup in a cup type thing.
I went past the Square Enix cafe in Akihabara station and it too looked a bit gimmicky.

I'm sure there was somebody recently that was telling us all that it is childish to complain about food you don't like.

This is different though and I still ate it. The food was expensive too. So I would have expected better quality. But overall it was definitely aimed at young children. Someone dressed as Pikachu came out mid meal and I felt like I shouldn't have been there lol never again. But the Pikachu chef plush was a nice buy there.

Has anyone got any tips for travel to, or seeing things in, Georgia (not the US one)? Going there in September for work but got to sort it all out myself. Staying in Batumi for a week because that's where I need to be, probably won't get much of a chance to travel far but might try to travel into Tbilisi first.
