A provisional list, which I may or may not change before PM'ing:

MGS3: Snake Eater
Bioshock
Fallout 3
Final Fantasy IX
Fifa 2012
PES 4
Football Manager 2010
Final Fantasy VII
COD 4: Modern Warfare
Guitar Hero
MGS2: Guns of the Patriots
Half Life 2
Uncharted 2
Pokemon Gold
Final Fantasy XII
Fable
Max Payne
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Dead Space
Burnout Paradise

EDIT: Voted but with Skyrim in place of Guitar Hero.

Most of these games exist within a 10 or so year period (basically the 00's), where I just loved games and had so many great experiences with them, sadly nothing's come out in a while to match that. This gen is really starting to warm up now so hopefully those kind of games start appearing very soon.

What's the deal with Orange Box?

Does it count as 1 game.

I'd assume no, because it's not one game, it's a collection. Otherwise you could vote for the Zelda Collector's Edition GC, MGS HD Trilogy, etc. etc.

I forgot about this, the original street racer, it was a revelation to play in accurate cities in their real time zone. I played it a stupid amount, there was so many fantastic routes and driving a sports car maneuvering through alleyways trying to play catch up in those two car races where you had to beat the car in order to earn it (i think..), those were great. Tokyo and San Fransisco were the best, I remember loving gaining time on the group ahead after making a mistake by pushing too much on the straight, the AI was kind of robotic but could be aggressive. It worked as a casual game too, listening to their recreation of Will Smith or Shania Twain music while leisurely driving around San Fransisco in the morning.

Project Gotham Racing was a disappointment and I never played PGR2.

My 20 no particular order...

Ocarina of Time - Quite simply the best game ever. A wonderful adventure and the game design feels as fresh as the very best of what we get today.
Mario Galaxy - Just pure joy, a game that is all about playing but with a real underlying heart to it as well.
TTYD - Probably the single greatest example of story and gameplay development working hand in hand yet produced. Utterly flawless, more so than anything else on this list.
Twilight Princess - Probably the closest a game has ever come to knocking OOT off the top spot. So much variation and excitement in the gameplay and set in a wonderful realisation of the classic Hyrule. The Last Zelda game to feel truly special.
Super Smash Bros - Had to go with the one that started the franchise, little else touches it in multiplayer.
The Last of Us - Perhaps my favourite ever game world and accompanying story. Excellent survival combat and wonderful squad based multiplayer.
No Mercy - Loved playing out real stories in game and the combat mechanics are almost puzzled like in their layering and complexity. Utterly brilliant in multiplayer.
Super Metroid - Amazing sense of atmosphere for a 2d game, exploration and sci-fi adventure at its best. This is how Samus should always control.
Transport Tycoon - Endless hours poured into optimising transport networks and wonderful fun to see the money rolling in, no other sim comes close for me.
Pokemon Red - Pokemon collecting and battling without the disctracting side malarkey, childhood playground bliss.
Wind Waker - Such a glorious game world filled with fascinating people that somehow create a life with only a few words of dialogue. Sailing the season to adventure just felt right for the series in a way no other major shake up has emulated.
Perfect Dark - The amount of content in this game is breathtaking. Tried so much new that was so good that has been cruelly overlooked after a certain other FPS came out. Don't think we'll see anything like this ever again unfortunately.
LTTP - How this achieves the sense of epic adventure in such a small space is a marvel. Became the blueprint for gamings best series for the next 2 decades.
Wii Sports - Simply the best party game ever, launched a console into a world wide phenomenon and is just as much fun to play today as it was then
Uncharted 2 - Raiders of the Lost Arc of the gaming world. Just the pinnacle of action adventure story and bombastic fun.
Mario Kart 64 - Nobody in the history of the world ever has turned down an offer of a game of MK64 with very good reason.
Red Dead Redemption - Anyone who's sceptical of Rockstar because of GTA I would point to this, a really well told and heartfelt journey through the old west where the characters story is almost uniquely secondary to that of the environment around him.
Goldeneye - Best movie tie-in ever and just brilliantly designed. Was just great to gunplay in the game and nothing since has made you feel quite as Bond!
Command and Conquer Red Alert - First and definitive introduction to the RTS genre for me, great story and the best balanced gameplay almost anywhere in the genre.
GTA V - Whilst the gameplay may not be as well refined or fun as anything else in this list the game world is simply the most remarkable achievement in game design in at least a decade and elevates everything around it.

Nearly made its
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Resident Evil GC
Donkey Kong County Returns
Super Mario World
Lylat Wars
Majoras Mask
Orange Box
Metroid Prime 3
COD MW
Tomb Raider Reboot
Rock Band 3
Gears of War
Pokemon Soul Silver
F-Zero GX
Mario Kart 8

You should amend the thread title so that it's ALL CAPS too.
