I hate the guy with a passion, but it has to be Giggs. Or Super Matty Taylor.

Well he'll fit in well with the left back we picked then...

Just wait until we pick Collymore as our lone striker.

4-4-2 isn't the best formation for the best Premier League XI. You'd have a back four, but Ronaldo notwithstanding (who can play as a forward anyway) there are far better players in central midfield and up front in the history of the PL than there are out-and-out wingers.

I think that's the least of our worries.

We can't even stop people just voting for their teams players.

Yeah, but basically this has descended into Giggs vs Pires when neither would make an all-time Premier XI, simply because we 'have' to have a left winger.

Really?

I'd put Giggs in any all time PL team.

I know I'm biased but if Matthew Le Tissier doesn't get a mention then there's something wrong with this thread

How about a rule where you're not allowed to vote for your own team's players? Like the PFA do it.

i was just mixing it up plus i do think ginola would easily fight it out for a left wing spot. I think most would just say giggs because he did so well at extending his career and hit so many targets(matches played, cups won etc) but also at his peak he was amazing. Other than giggs i would say Bale , never thought much of pires really. Kewell was actually pretty good on the left wing and Steve Mcmanaman was pretty epic at times as well.

Both you and JChalmers pretty much illustrate the problem with this. Ginola and Le Tissier were both brilliant players but no way are they in the top 11 PL players of all time! Same goes for Pires for that matter.

I'm not basing it on him extending his career at all. He's been really average the last 3 or 4 years.

I'm basing it purely on his peak and the fact he was the best Left Winger the PL has ever seen.
