Wow, that's seems very petty. At most that deserves a reminder to bring them next time. It's just a pair of socks! I would not be happy if that happend to my (hypothetical) kid.

Her PE kid consists of a black t-shirt (with the school logo on) black shorts, black trainers and specialist lacross socks. Every time I've gone in to the shop they haven't had her shoe size, but we were told she could wear black socks until they had the white ones in stock. I've been in 4 times about these bloody socks, she's a size 5, they only have size 7 - 11. And it's the only shop around here that sells these socks. (Maybe I should have posted this bit in the things that annoy you thread instead)

She said it was meant to be a 20 minute detention, she managed to persuade her way out within 10

A teacher once threatened to give my daughter a detention for forgetting one PE sock. I phoned up and complained and she kept saying "I'm just following orders" I told her that sounded so familiar and pretended to be trying to remember, I then asked if she had ever taught history to which she responded no, so I proceeded to lecture her on that I was just following orders is what all the Nazi war criminals said when they had done wrong things and followed stupid rules, apparently she avoided my daughter like the plague after that and plenty of kids that found out why proceeded to take the piss royally , one of my prouder parenting moments , and now she's 16 I still get high fives from some of her friends over that and apparently have "cool dad" status.

Finally got the socks today and was told by the shop keeper not to "get everything last minute next time". I hadn't, it was their fault I didn't have her socks because they weren't in stock, in fact I'd been in halfway of the summer holidays to buy them and they hadn't had them in!

My new phone is supposed to get delivered on Monday, but requires a signature, as my co worker has Monday and Tuesday off I have had to reschedule the delivery for Wednesday and take that day off work.

I'm planning a seven week holiday. There are just too many interesting places I want to put on my itinerary. Life is hard sometimes.

We just did a 5 week one and planning was a disaster. Made worse by the fact that we forgot to lift the bag with the planning bookin so when we arrived we’d forgotten most of the stuff we wanted to do.

Oh no! :( Did you manage to have a good holiday without it? On my last holiday I almost forgot my passport. I was halfway to the coach station before I realised.

I have to say generally I love planning, I'm getting a little anxious this time because it's a multi country trip but nothing too bad atm. It's easier now that I shaved 4 weeks off of my original plan

I have nothing really to do this morning but I still woke up at 9:30 and laid in bed until 10AM. I won't have anything important to do until like 2PM when I go visit my mum.

Was picking my nephew up at his school and I heard a kid moaning - complaining - to his mum that he "only" has a 32 inch TV screen in his bedroom and he wants a 50 inch screen.

Poor lad :( .

The bank have said they may be able to lend us more for a mortgage than we thought so now we have to spend more time on Rightmove.

I ran out of material whilst sewing a skirt for myself and now I can't remember where I had the material from to buy more.

Must have a big room, i wouldn't be able to fit a 50 inch TV in here no matter how much i wanted one.

I always think it looks ridiculous when people have these massive TVs in rooms that clearly aren't big enough for then these days.

Also I remember being over the moon when we finally got a 14" portable TV in our bedroom when I was a kid!

Booked my flights for my holiday. Flying out my usual seat had been taken by someone else. I had to pick another perfectly acceptable seat elsewhere on the plane.

My first TV was a little 14" Hikona which was made in Turkey, completely unknown brand, yet it lasted a decade (i started using it with a ZX Spectrum, and it was still going when i plugged in a Dreamcast) and was an amazing little set.

My wife got offered her parents' old 50" telly when they upgraded to 4K and she said no because she thought "it would dominate the room" - I still get a little bit sad when I go round her brother's house.

I watched large amounts of USA 94 on a 12" black and white telly in my room. I think my incessant moaning about how bloody impossible that was partially prompted the 14" Sony Trinitron for my sisters and me that Christmas!

My surround amp supports DTS-HD, but not HDR picture passthrough, so although I have DTS sound (via optical) and HDR (via HDMI straight to the TV), I can't have both HDR and DTS-HD simultaneously.

It is genuinely putting me off watching some films until I've got my set-up nailed.

I remembered where i had it from, when I got there this morning he'd ran out and has to reorder, which could take 2 weeks.

The foil on the biscuit side of my muller corner had a tear in it meaning the biscuit part was slightly chewy :(
