It feels like time to take stock and recognise a few GRcadians who do stuff to make GR better.
>
Cheeky Devlin - The wonderful
Arcade Attacks! video series; running
Are You A Master Mario Maker competition; the return of the
GR Podcast... the guy has put a ton of time into creating these gems. Sir, we salute you!
>
Pedz -
Retro Monday... every Monday! The guy will play anything we throw at him - even Batman Returns
- and all with
a cheery smile potty-mouthed madness. Pedz is also a regular, keen voice in the Podcast. The proud Welsh Warrior is a legend!
>
Errkal - The GR Twitter and social channels run 24/7... all through the power of Errkal's enthusiasm! App-development is a bit of a sideline, too, and we're not quite how he does it. But we suspect that a selection of fine-quality beer helps. Errkal is the backbone of GR social stuff!
>
Karl,
Gecko and
Garth - I like to think that these chaps exist as brains suspended in large glass containers filled with ice-cool water (and a touch of gin, perhaps). Their collective brain-power is focused on GR, ready to adapt and change to whatever situation arises. Code and design pours from the containers, creating a pure concentrated elixir of creation that ensures the entire framework of GR is like a roaring beast. Tech wizards, we bow to your keyboard pressing!
>
Monkey Man - lets face it, with MM posting the gaming news in GR, there isn't really a need to look elswhere. I imagine MM sitting at a desk with at least fifty screens in front of him, all eyes on breaking news as it is reported... fingers feverishly moving to transmit developments into text so that we may see it!
>
The Watching Artist aka Matt. Err... um... mainly because my fridge looks a lot cooler this year than it did last year. I'd recommend buying a few of his fridge magnets if your fridge's appearance isn't quite cutting it. By far the best fridge man here on GR!
>
Moggy - The guy loves opinons and creating topics to get GRcadians talking... serious or humerous, outrageous or straight down the line... Moggy is the man for discussion. I can imagine him sitting at a bar, perhaps supping a single-malt whiskey, whilst beckoning people over and putting up a question or two (nothing that will get him arrested). Bravo, you devlish raconteur!
>
Super Dragon 64 - What a guy! Dragon rarely (i.e. never) gets drawn into making a silly comment and positivity flows from his dragon-emblazened robes . All-formats, all gaming... Dragon looks on the bright side and gets everyone excited!
>
still is an all-round good egg. He's not always around in the forum, but when he is you can expect a calm mind, subtle observations and honest talk. Keep channeling that life experience, man!
>
SerialCeler - It's the RecomCeler! He runs the show with GRecommends.... so many votes to count and log! So many tears to contend with as people get upset about other peoples' choices! Celer administers the chaos!
>
The mods... they need skin as tough as a T-Rex and minds as cool as ice. Lets face it, they have to deal with so much dang gooseberry-fool here in GR! Any decision they make will frustrate someone; it's an impossible job. The Stuff threads can be a bearpit! Guys, we don't hold any hate for you. Not always, anyway
.
>
GR dads - There seems to have been so many cool new babies born to GRcadians over the past year... with more on the way! It's great to see the proud dads posting in the "Ruined your life" thread. The kids may reduce your gaming time but it's clear that they're worth it
And... there could be
so many more mentions here. There probably
should be. The guys above just bounced off the thoughts at the top of my head and, when I hit "submit", I shall immediately feel bad for missing out some obvious and worthy choices. But, hey, there's always next time
.
To end, imagine the camera panning away whilst I'm attempting some 80s b-boy moves and a crowd chants "G!R!", "G!R!". Incredible scenes for a Monday evening!
Tl;dr Yeah, whatever, they did okay. Lets move on
.
