If you've seen the edge 100 greatest videogames thread you'll know that a lot of people here disagree strongly with a lot of the choices - and a lot of others disagree more strongly still with those disagreements. It made me think - are there any games that pretty much everyone here thinks worthy of being in a top 100 list?

Here's how it works. You can nominate any number of games you think worthy of being in a top 100 list. All nominated games will get added to the list below. If you disagree with any games on the list, post to say which ones. Games that have at least one detractor will get marked in red. Games with three or more votes against will be moved into a separate list so that they don't get renominated. We're not interested in where in the top 100 the games sit, just that they are there somewhere.

Will any games survive to be crowned worthy of a GRcade top 100 placement? I'M EXCITED TO FIND OUT - and I'll start by adding just five nominations of my own: BOTW, OoT, TimeSplitters 2, MGS3 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. I'll probably nominate more, but I don't want to steal all of the great games straight up!

I'll think about this a little more later, but the first game I think of worthy of an all time top 100 entry is:

Asteroids

Rather than removing games with three strikes, just edit the game with a strike through, otherwise people will nominate games already removed creating a bit of an admin nightmare.

@OrangeRakoon: We can rank the games that survive by MetaScore to get an approximation of what a ranked Top 100 would look like. Would be a more interesting way to present the final list than in a random order IMO.

P.S. @OrangeRakoon: 100% Orange Juice is a negative control. If it survives into the Top 100 just because no-one has ever heard of it, we'll know this experiment has no worth.

I think whether or not you take historical importance into consideration has a big effect on these lists. The NES has so many important games, but there are probably only 2 or 3 that I'd actually want to play today. The original Pokemon is far more important than any of the sequels but you probably wouldn't play it today. Going to kind of factor in nostalgia with these picks.

Tony Hawk's 3 and Timesplitters 2 were staples of my teenage gaming diet.

Can we not get some love for Pokémon red and blue too? First game I ever completed as a child, and look what those two games started! Plus 151 Pokémon was so much better than 2 million or whatever they have now!
