Missed the previous GRecommends? You can find a list of previous votes and results in this carefully prepared document

The next GRecommends is upon us, and this month we want your nominations to find the 10 best first-person shooters of all time.

As always, the definition is up to you, but here's what Wikipedia has to say about them:

First-person shooter (FPS) is a video game genre centered on gun and projectile weapon-based combat through a first-person perspective; that is, the player experiences the action through the eyes of the protagonist.

Just list your top 10 below (each counts for one vote, so ranking them isn't important).

Voting is open for a month and closes on 30 September.

I look forward to seeing your nominations.

By the way, I'm counting The Orange Box as separate games so you can vote for Portal and Team Fortress etc as separate nominations.

:o . How come, dude?

Dead Space is over-the-shoulder rather than FPS? Jedi Knight II has first and third-person options :-).

Doom
GoldenEye
Crysis
BioShock
System Shock 2
Half Life 2
Half Life 1
Alien Isolation
Doom 2016 (amazingly)
Deus Ex

Though not really sure that Alien, SS2 or Deus are straight FPS's as such.

Jawa, Dead Space 100% isn't an FPS, it's a third person shooter. If it were an FPS, that means you could include Gears of War and all the Resi's from 4 onwards in here. And you can't. Because that would be silly.

Deadspace is a third person shooter, so isn't valid for this category.

Anywho, in no particular order:

Overwatch
Wolfenstein the New Order
Portal
Goldeneye 007
Perfect Dark
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Killing Floor
Serious Sam
Far Cry 2
SUPERHOT

I mean it's first person and you shoot things so why not. Sure it's a platform puzzle game too, but...

I did deliberately avoid Deus Ex, Dishonored and Fallout at least.
