They are technically separate releases, so pick whichever one you think is best. For example, Coast2Coast has more content but do you see that as a bonus/better value or is it padding which dilutes the core experience?

It's the same with Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament and Micro Machines Turbo Tournament '96. It has extra stuff that wasnt in 2 and also a track creator and is better in every way.

1 - Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)
2 - Wipeout HD Fury (PS3)
3 - Burnout 2 (Xbox)
4 - Total Drivin' (PlayStation)
5 - Lotus III (Amiga)
6 - F-Zero X (N64)
7 - Road Rash 64 (N64)
8 - Need for Speed (PlayStation)
9 - Ridge Racer (PlayStation)
10 - Super Skidmarks (Amiga)

I found it tough to settle on that ten; so many classic games to consider.

EDIT: Added in Ridge Racer and removed Out Run (Arcade). :-( .
EDIT: Added Super Skidmarks and removed Hang On (Master System). :-(.

It doesn't have all the content that was in OutRun 2, for me OutRun 2 is clearly the superior game even though Coast 2 Coast included the SP tracks and some of those were amazing.

I can't believe two of us have voted for Lotus Turbo Challenge games and we've both voted for different iterations!

All we need now is for someone and come and vote for the original.

Indeed! They're all cracking games; I plumped for III because of the RECS (course creation) addition.

- - - - - - - - - -

The voting needs *way* more Road Rash mentions. I went for the N64 version because of the ability to drive off the track and journey around the buildings and across the countryside  .

I went for the Saturn version as I loved it when I was a kid. I played it gooseberry fool tons. Was fantastic and had a story kinda thing with a rival and everything.

How am I the only person so far to vote for Crash Team Racing

I assumed it would at least be as popular as Diddy Kong Racing!

Totally forgot about the PGR series. I'm gonna need to bump an entry from my list I think...

I've updated my list with some short reasoning for each entry.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

How on earth did I forget about Ridge Racer :o :fp: . I've amended my entry.

suzzopher wrote:...Split/Second...

I was tempted to include that but I haven't played it enough to justify a top ten placing. Great game, though.

I was thinking about Split/Second but then I remembered the terrible PC port which was locked to 30fps with super-limited graphics options. Even under all that I found it got repetitive earlier than I was expecting. The power-plays were an interesting alternative to mario kart-style pickups but they are just as bullshit.

My top 10:

1. Project Gotham Racing 4 (360)
2. Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast (xbox)
3. Ridge Racer (PSP)
4. Dirt 2 (360)
5. Wipeout Pulse (PSP)
6. Forza Motorsport 4 (360)
7. Rallisport Challenge 2 (xbox)
8. Driveclub (PS4)
9. Burnout Paradise (360)
10. Grid Autosport (360)

The 360 was a beast for racing games so many, whittling down to just ten is hard enough but then putting them in order is a nightmare, this has taken up my lunch hour
