I'm a little worried about this one. Will we have enough Sega Saturn owners on GRcade to build a top 10?

If you need a reminder, here's a list of Saturn games.

Just list your top 10 below (each counts for one vote, so ranking them isn't important).

Voting is open for a month, and will close on 27 October.

As always, I look forward to seeing your nominations.

Great console, but I don't think I actually owned ten games for my Saturn.

I'll have a bash though.

1/ Sega Rally
2/ Virtua Fighter 2
3/ Guardian Hereos
4/ Panzer Dragoon Saga
5/ Radiant Silver Gun
6/ Street Fighter Alpha
7/ Manx TT
8/ Marvel vs Street Fighter

Yeah, I reckon so.

I'll do my list later in the week, but it's likely to include D, Frankenstein: Through The Eyes Of The Monster, and Dark Savior.

Virtua Fighter 2
Sega Rally
Sonic Jam
Nights: Into Dreams
Marvel Superheroes VS Street Fighter
Virtua Cop 2
Capcom Generation 5
Radiant Silvergun
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Sega Ages Vol.1 (Outrun, Space Harrier, Afterburner)

I'd probably swap out one or more of the compilations for a decent Japan-only shoot-em-up, but the only ones I have are DonPachi and DoDonPachi, and they're better on the PlayStation.

Saturn Bomberman- good choice! I love the 10-player mode. Teeny tiny sprites and unbridled mayhem with no mounts or over-complicated power ups. Sadly Bomberman was never as good again :(

I've been waiting for this to come round, I loved my Saturn in spite of its multiple flaws.

  • Virtua Fighter 2
  • Panzer Dragoon Zwei
  • Fighters Megamix
  • Saturn Bomberman
  • NiGHTS: Into Dreams
  • Virtua Cop 2
  • Sega Rally
  • Virtual On: Cyber Troopers
  • Fighting Vipers
  • Athlete Kings

I never managed to get Burning Rangers or Panzer Dragoon Saga as I didn't have my own income at the time and all my local games shops hardy stocked any Saturn stuff at that point of the consoles lifespan.

Based on games I've played.

Athlete Kings/Winter Heat -so many great days spent multiplayer on this
Battle Garegga
Saturn Bomberman
Keio Flying Squadron

Hyperduel
Three Dirty Dwarves
Daytona USA

Diehard Arcade, Sega Rally, House of the Dead, Rayman, Sega Ages, Parodius, Nights, Clockwork Knights, In the Hunt, Metal Slug, X-Men Children of the Atom, Bug, Darius Gaiden.

I think the Saturn suffers somewhat because many of its games have not been re-released or collected in the same way many other platforms have.

Just a week to get those votes in if you haven't done so already.

Yeah, I've never owned a Saturn or even played on one. I remember seeing Nights Into Dreams and Guardian Heroes, the 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up, running on display in a store and thinking they looked really cool, though!

Sega really shot themselves in the foot with the disaster that was the 32X, it led to retailers losing confidence in them and so when the Playstation was launched,, places like GAME practically ditched the Saturn overnight, my local branch at the time had aa huge display of PS1 games and a single shelf of Saturn games which quite often didn't include new releases.

The same thing happened with the Dreamcast shortly after the PS2 launch.

It's still a damn shame Sega exited out of the console market.

Other than Virtua Cop instead of Virtua Cop 2 and the inclusion of Clockwork Knight 2 that's a solid top 10.
