What is GRecommends?

Results Thread (Work in Progress)

A place where people of the forum can go and see what other people of the forum think we should play. A place free of conflict, a place where we all come together to form the ultimate list ultilist GREATEST LISTS OF ALL TIME.

Each thread will be open for two weeks, there will be no more than two threads at a time as to not clog up the forum and people will vote for their Top 20 games for the console the thread is about.

Voting

All you need to do is make a list, in order, of the twenty games you think people should play on each console, and the higher up on your list the game is, the more points it receives. It would be helpful if you put the points in brackets next to the game, but it isn't necessary. If you do not put points, then I will award them myself based on the order of your list, so remember to put your favourite games first.

Example:
1 - Best Game Ever (20)
2 - Second Best Game Ever (19)
...
19 - Nineteenth Best Game Ever (2)
20 - Twentieth Best Game Ever (1)

If you have a multi-platform game you want to vote for, go ahead, and vote for it on any other consoles you played it on too. I know i'm going to vote for Tony Hawks 2 on N64, Dreamcast and GBA.

If you vote for some obscure game that a fool like me probably hasn't even heard of, please put a link to it on Wikipedia/somewhere else too.

Optional: I plan to make the thread in the end as fancy as ever, links to videos, places to buy and so on, so if you like, you can include a small review of a game that could end up being mentioned in the final thread. No more than 200 characters as to not waste your time if they're not picked.

Lists are always good...as long as they are mine.

It'd be good if people could say from what era they want this to start from too. I was thinking of Playstation, N64, Dreamcast, Gameboy as the starting point and then work our way up, but if people wanted earlier then I could do that too I 'spose.

Lists are always good...as long as they are not Hugo's.

Guess i'll go ahead with this then. Only 8 replies to the poll, but you know as soon as you whip out a list thread people will be all over it. I'll probably start us off with a big console in order to get the most interest to the thread so expect to see a N64 thread up sometime tomorrow.

So... what next? It wont go up for another three days but whatever. I was thinking of something that wont get too much interest in order to reduce the workload, something like GBA maybe.

And for when it comes to PC Games, I was thinking of doing two separate versions, one for indie games and one for, you know, proper games. Yay or nay?

Vote counting is well underway in the N64 thread, it's taking bloody ages, but i'm slowly getting there. There's eight or so games at the moment that are in the lead by some distance, but anything from 41st has a chance of making it in to the top 20 with just one good vote at the moment. And out of twelve votes, only two games have been voted for 11 times, none voted for by everyone.

I've finally got around to near enough completing the N64 Results in the thread, the only thing missing being a few choice comments on the games mentioned in the voting thread which i'll get around to later on. Next up is to count the PlayStation results, but since hardly any of you buggers voted it wont take me long at all!

Is there anyone who can help me out with screenshots for some of the PS1 games? Since i've not played the vast majority of them, I don't know what screenshot is from what based on Google's lies!

Yet another post from me in here! I've finally put up the PlayStation results which you can find here:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=29391

As someone who's not played the majority of those games, if anyone of those screenshots aren't from the right game, let me know and i'll change it!

Now that the seventh generation of consoles is over, we could do GRecommends for any of the last-gen consoles.
